    Ralph, you didnt say if the guage was mechanical or electric...I would install a quality mechanical oil pressure guage to properly diagnose. And yes, put a stock pump on it...it will also give you some fuel milage..bigger isnt always better.

    Lol...doesn't matter..just stopping flow. Figure out what size hose you have and install a shut off valve..3/4 or 5/8..find a spot..2 heater hose clamps and your done. Most parts stores have them..mines on rt fender in line with hoses..cable controlled

    The nice thing about it I can go to any parts store and get replacement parts..just gotta remember 74 e body...I really thought I was going to have to replace everything with aftermarket...dodged a bullet!

    Lol..last post...pops was probably my age..I'm 64 and retired GM tech..if like the way it runs off idle in gear..its probably dad didnt put a 2500 stall converter in it..probably bumped it in N at th lights...if you want smooth idle...back to stock! Pops got rid of high torque cam from HD 440...

    Reread your post..you should hear some lope at idle...normal! If your running a automatic and the converter is too tight it could be messing with you..just thinkin..
