Best advice...
Buy the most complete car in the best quality that your budget can afford. Piecing together a car with missing parts is more expensive in the long run.
Just sayin'!
I agree with @Challenger RTA and @gran coupe john.
Mopars were rare the day they rolled off the assembly line.
About 1/4 - 1/5 as many cars when compared to the ever popular `69 Camaro and `70 Mustang.
Example:
1969 Camaro 243,085 Total
Production: 225,512 coupe, 17,573 convertible.
1970...
Remember, Glen-Ray can recore an existing, original radiator for quite a bit less $. You might be able to find the correct radiator at a national event.
Carlisle assuredly had one for this year (last weekend). I am not sure if Bob was there representing Glen-Ray or not.
Original engine stampings of Year, Plant, and Serial Number look like this for 340 engines. No flat-topped "3's".
Double-taps are common as the die-holding fixture can bounce when struck. Top photo is of a similar style die stamp fixture to what Chrysler used.
The stamping can also be fainter at...
The car appears to be well worth the asking price. Unfortunately, it has "issues" which draw unnecessary scrutiny.
That engine stamping is definitely questionable.
The engines are offset toward the passenger side. Extra clearance for the steering gear.
You can easily see this when looking at a Shaker baseplate/adapter ring.
I would check your Scheduled Production Date (AARs from early March to late April with maybe a few in very early-May).
Back up about 6-8 weeks from the SPD and use that calculated date. A late date in February would work for most AARs.
Also, ask Bob at Glen-Ray. He has a lot of knowledge on this...
The correct thermostat ensures the coolant has time to shed its heat while in the radiator. This "dwell" time is critical.
Having a lower temp thermostat allows the coolant to circulate constantly with minimal or zero dwell time which hurts cooling system performance.
A quality 195°F thermostat...
Yes, clear everything by deleting each field and then enter new info.
It will not make a 2nd tag with the right formatting and alignment. I did that using MS Paint (built into Windows). A lot of cut and paste.
I fixed that B to an E already. ;)
The company some have used does not appear to have a website any longer. I think the graphic was all they needed to produce the tag.
Read this thread.
eBay has a vendor but does not show he does the full fender tag of codes. You can find this vendor on...
Good catch on the N85. I was up until about 4AM when I generated those tags. LOL
I updated the previous tag post as well to avoid others getting confused.
Mine matches yours above. Looks like this would be correct for what you know and found about the car.
The second tag layout for the V6X Y14...
You will need to get a different heater control panel if you plan to use the Rallye Instrument Cluster. That pesky semi-circular cutout ruins the look.
Very common to see a Rallye cluster upgrade with the old heater control panel or A/C-Heater control panel.
The heater control panels are...
Yep, Holley makes the Hyperspark 383 distributor. $499.95 (JUL2025) for distributor only and $961.09 (JUL2025) for the
Sniper EFI HyperSpark 2 Ignition System - CHRYSLER 383 / 400 - Black Part # VK020305BK
with the distributor, coil, and the Hyperspark 2 ignition box. You can probably find...
Details on the Shaker base "drop-base" modification for higher intake manifolds like the Edelbrock Performer RPM 440. Works to lower your Shaker to proper height and get the correct movement!
Fiberglass baseplate and adapter ring. Xstream K&N filter top (need the airflow). Bottom only of a...
You can carefully clean up the conical lugnut seats in the wheels with a 1/2" 60° countersink bit. Link is to Amazon.
This can remedy minor seat issues but does take away a small amount of seat material which slightly enlarges the 1/2" holes.
The Stealth throttle body has the same height as a Holley double-pumper carb.
Your shaker will work fine if the intake manifold height is stock or within 1/2-3/4” taller than stock.
I run an Edelbrock Performer RPM intake and a modified fiberglass shaker baseplate. It uses a Moroso drop-base air...
