Heard once that only about 450 RT cars came with 383 4 speeds.

Mine is Citron Yellow - how many were made in that color in 71.

Thanks for your help.

FYI
Not sure about the number of cars but the paint colour for a Dodge is GY3 or Citron Yella.
Or if it was a Plymouth - Curious Yellow.

At least 1.... :rofl: Seriously though you would have to extrapolate the "approximate" number.

- How may 71 Challengers were built - 23,088
- How many 71 Challenger RTs were built - 4,630
- How many 71 Challenger RTs with a 383 4 spd were built - 495
-What is the percentage of 71 Challengers that were painted in citron yellow - 4.2%

So, many would say that 4.2% of the the 495 383 4spd cars (or ~ 21) cars "could' have been painted in GY3

So I got this off of another site but it goes further in the math and might be of interest;

If it was strictly a math problem you would divide the total number of 340 Challengers (1078) by the total number of Challengers produced (23088) to determine that approximately 4.7% were 340 cars. Then, you would multiply the total number of Challengers produced (23088) X the percentage of 340 Challengers built (4.7% or .047) X the percentage of cars painted Citron Yellow (4.2% or .042) to determine that approximately 45 to 46 cars were Citron Yellow 340 Challengers.

I really like the colour. I have seen pictures of a Duster, Super Bee and a Charger painted GY3.
I guess it could be a colour you love or hate.
It was only available in 1971 so it will be a very rare colour if your car is factory GY3, no matter what model it is.
