73 rear glass centering clips??

Hi all, getting some things done but ran into a problem. The rear glass trim kit comes with centering or alignment clips. There doesn't seem to be a left or right and I'm not sure what they are supposed to do? They have (teeth) on the raised part, what is that for? Where do they go? See pictures attached.

The metal clips do a similar job as the hard rubber wedge blocks under the front windshield, to keep the glass from sliding downward. Placement is not critical, just one on each side at the bottom and they are not made differently left to right.

The following shows one on the driver side of my 1970 Challenger.

I did not take a detail photo of the other side, but you can see its placement in this overall image:

These were placed in the same spots as the removed originals.
