Cuda Power Bulge Inserts

Looking for insight for the Cuda power bulge inserts, Seems like their are mostly painted black with many painted orange/red. Is there any rhyme or reason? Year? Exterior color? My Cuda is a "76 340. Original paint code is GK6.
