Looking for glass installer.

Hello e- buddies. Looking for a glass installer in the Baltimore, Frederick Maryland area for my windshield and rear glass (both original) on my 73 challenger.

Also looking for opinions on using butyl or urethane.

Original glass, or replacement? Replacement trim clips? Some replacement glass is thinner than the original; and some trim clips are taller. (Remember to install the trim clips first, if any of them require screws) This could be an issue with the trim being loose when installed. So, I would carefully measure the clips and snap in a piece of trim without the glass and measure what minimum distance you need. You can the call a glass installer to come out and use urethane or do it yourself with butyl.

Generally, the butyl tape is sold at Napa, and others, in 5/16 and 3/8. This is very easy to do yourself with a helper. Just make sure the butyl is at least room temp and everything is clean.

@Khuotakharma I have a great guy in this area (Baltimore, Annapolis). He did the front and rear windshields in my Challenger. I did the door and 1/4 glass myself but he does those as well. I’ll pm you his info. He’s great with classic cars and reasonably priced.

I’m not super comfortable posting his number without checking with him first. In the meantime, happy to share his contact info with members in the Baltimore/Washington area via PM. He’s older and retired but did glass his whole career and is a car guy through and through.
