I was honored to know a next door neighbor that served in World war 2. One of his places Jim served was on Burma road. He took a blast from a grenade to the face. Got lucky, burnt his face and knocked his teeth out. Had a great family of 5 children. I would always cut his grass and shovel his walks. Never a big deal. Always liked sitting with him and talking. My son was young 5-6 he got to know him and we always remember him. He treated my son like gold. I miss that guy. This is a salute to him!
