My black carpet is brown

Hello to all,

Due the time and sun my black carpet is brown, its in very very good condition so I can paint in black??

Can you recomnend me a paint or spray please??

I have a friend who painted a carpet black. It too was faded from years of sun. I think he used an S.E.M. product for dyeing carpet and other material. It looks good but I can not attest to the life span of it yet.

I did it on an old restoration years ago. I used vinyl dye and used a rag to brush it it. Turned out pretty good.

Correct and quality molded carpets have gotten very expensive; worth the effort it the carpets are in good condition. Nothing to lose.
I purchased a replacement carpet about 20 years ago. They were stored inside, never installed and they still faded.

I have used the Ritz dye that is sold at Walmart , etc. It works real well. It is made for cloth.
