    Finally some progress

I've been away for some time but have recently gotten back into things. I finally got the Challenger in for paint after stripping her down and installing the new trunk floor and rear quarter patch. Looking good in her new Hemi Orange.

    Electronic ignition conversion problem.

Hey guys. I just put an electronic distributor and control module on my slant 6 and it cranks but the starter doesn't disengage. I have checked my connections and it all seems right. I picked up the start position hot on the steering column. If I disconnect this wire from the ballast...

    Body filler recommendation

I have been using some Evercoat filler that I'm not that impressed with. What's everyone else using? Looking for smoothness and sand-ability. Also, this stuff hardens in record time. I would like a slower setting product that would allow for working a larger area. I see a lot of people...

    T/A Heads?

Could these be 1970 T/A heads? The casting is 3418915 and they have the 2.02/1.60 valves. The date codes are 2850 and 2610. Would that make them 1971 or 1970? They do not have the 360 casting. They do not have the shafts and rockers.

    New baby

Not an e-body but a Mopar none the less. She's a 1981 D150. Slant 6 with auto. Surprisingly solid and runs like sewing machine. Repaint in factory color but definitely a 20 footer at best. Got a good deal on her so brought her home. Originally, a column shift manual but converted to auto with a...

    Thin small block head gaskets

Anyone have experience with the thin (.025) head gaskets or advice? I would like to pick up some c.r. on my build without the expense of machine work. Wondering how these would hold up and seal between cylinders.

    Tip on removing door handles

I need a tip on removing the lock rod on the door handles without tearing anything up. Do they pop out of the little plastic clips on the latch mechanism?

    Small block windage tray

Trying to test fit a wind age tray in my 340 but the bolt holes are about 1/4" too wide. Is there a difference in small blocks? I am assuming that it's for a 360 and that the bigger crank caps are the issue. Is this a issue that can be cleared up by elongating the holes to fit? If not...

    Tell me about this picture

I assume that I have .040 over pistons here. Any idea of the compression these would be? It's a 72 model 340. First time engine build and I want to use this as a starting point but may be wasting time and money.

Something that I can get behind.......

2011 -- Birth of a New Tradition As the holidays approach, the giant Asian factories are kicking into high gear to provide Americans with monstrous piles of cheaply produced goods -- merchandise that has been produced at the expense of American labor. This year will be different. This year...

    I'll offer this........

Found this article and I thought this to be a good starting point. With no personal experience, this is probably all that I can offer. http://www.carcraft.com/techarticles/ccrp_0905_hemi_engine_swap_guide/viewall.html Thanks, Ray. Cool addition.

    Kids and cars

How many of you guys have kids that are as passionate about cars, e-bodies particularly, as you are? What age are they? My 12 y.o. is absolutely a fanatic. I hope we can pass it on.

    Spot weld cutter recommendation

What spot wèld cutter do you use? The one that I have tends to walk bad. I think it's a Blair 3/8. It cuts good enough but the holesaw teeth also tend to break often.

    To 340 or not.........

I have been trying to find a 3440 for my 72 Challenger for a while. I found one today. It's a 72 model out of a 72 Little Red Express. It has the appearance of being all original and the owner says that it has been in his possession for 14 years. He had a 72 Duster that he had been racing...
