    Check your oil pick- up, as well, make sure no metal is inside. I use Indian-head gasket cement for 45 years.. no leaks.

    Ride height is not measured by sheetmetal. It's a specification of the difference in height of the lower balljoint (steering arm) and the lower torsion bar adjusting pivot.

    I'm currently using a Wizard aluminum. Fits perfectly, shroud fits exactly, & cools satisfactorily.

    Disregard the manual, what Leo says is spot on. Re-connect the vacuum advance after you set timing. What radiator do you have ? hopefully you have a shroud on it, as well.

    Paint color question

    If I read this correctly, the color issue to me is secondary. Is this a 383 4-bbl THREE-speed ? I'm not sure if I ever seen one. And you're going to make this into a 440-6bbl THREE-speed ? Interesting. If originality is not an issue, color is purely subjective.

    IF everything is correct on your suspension (ride height, alignment), I'd trash any headers with only 2" off the ground, pronto.. either a different brand or stock manifolds.

    I recall it should be a Holley, but not certain. Not a TQ, though. TQ's are easy to identify by their phenolic resin body.

    Welcome, and good luck with you project. While there's several ways to do so, if you're doing it yourself, I'd DA it & hope the sander doesn't land on the seat. Keep in mind, the only way do do it right is to remove ALL rust & corrosion... everywhere. If it thins out, you may be in for panel...

    This is easy. As Rameth said, not a 70-71, Hemi/6-bbl/AAR car, it's numbers-matching collectibility is minimal. What he said is spot on. So... do it they way YOU like.... as I've said to others I've done cars for, it's what makes you happy is all that matters.
