Bolt size for rear seat loop 71 Chall?

I'm not having lucking going back and forth to hardware store.....The skinny loops that hold down the rear seat back. I've seen crazy sizes out of AI....and can't find vendors advertising them, but they wouldn't advertise the size any way. Anyone know what size/style bolt goes in there? Thanks!!

The screws to secure the bottom of the rear seat back frame to the floor brackets are 1/4"-14 x 7/8" with a 7/8" washer and 7/16" hex head. The following image shows the screws:

And if those aren't in place, the seat back rides up about another inch when you put the rear seat in. At least on mine. Looks weird through the rear window. Thanks again. At some point, after I work through issues, I plan on posting some info on this car. Interesting story. Car was partially restored by GYC...let's just say they aren't the end all in restoration! Lots of missing stuff, or incorrectly routed stuff, etc. Anyway, it's a cool car. 71 V code Chall 4 sp dana car.
 
My 73 had screws that were flanged. They did not hold well and the threads stripped when tightening. So I used some spare fenders u-nuts with bolts to hold the upper rear seat down. Much better holding power and no slipping of the "u" from the upper rear seat. You probably have some spares lying around.

The 1973 - 1974 E-bodies employed a different attachment than 1970 - 1972 E-bodies with a 1/4"-20 x 13/16" flanged head screw with 3/8" hex head. The following image shows the 1970 - 1972 screws and 1973 - 1974 type screws compared:

The later screws may vary at the point depending on the supplier.

oh, good point. I wonder if that issue results with restored interiors, because in the examples I'm thinking of, the seat covers were cracking and/or worn.
Good point, because I just went to hardware store and found some 1/4 14's and guess what? They won't even thread in. It appears as though no screw has gone into the hole before.
 
That "walking up" thing you describe sure sounds plausible. But I've not seen it before. I have an e-body driver I would take skiing, back in the day, and I would remove the back upper so the skis would fit inside and into the trunk area. The screws were lost to the bolt bucket years ago.
 
Believe me, I have much bigger things I should worry about than this stupid seat! It's more a case of the rear bottom seat pushing up a bit against it and it pushes it up a little bit. It has been recovered at some time, but they didn't replace original cushion material etc.

I only had it out because GYC thinks 440-6 cars have a single exhaust.....just kidding. But they filled the holes where the exhaust hanger goes, instead of putting in a new one. So I got one from Accurate and put in there and had to pull the seat to do so.

This car has an interesting background and I hope to do a small write up on it in the future.
