Need a new steering box for my 1970 Challenger R/T 400. It currently has a Steer & Gear Firm Feel box. Looking for recommendations for a good quality regular box. Thank you!

The box is shot. There’s 4” of play and it can’t be adjusted out. My mechanic is recommending going with a standard vs. a firm box.
I’m assuming by OEM you are referring to a remanufactured one. NAPA has one for $212. Steer & Gear $400. Summit Racing $700. I’m not smart enough to know the difference.

Pressure correct?

From working on heavy equipment. When the equipment would be or the operator would say it's to Jerky. They are thinking the pressure is to high. We would say OK. We know they messed with it! Then we would set it higher.
There are those that know and then their are those that know! The statement might not sound right. But it's sound good to us. Check the pump and hoses too.

By OEM, I mean a used one and rebuilding it with a rebuild kit (as necessary) or going with an OER or something else built to factory specs from Summit, or from the many places we talk about on these forums.

Unless you have to have original, go with the Borgeson and it'll eliminate all the play original box has. It's pricey but you'll be happy with it. I had the firm box and the Borgeson is so much better.
