    Fuel tank grommet R&R

Well I got-R-Done! It was actually pretty easy to take the old grommet out and put the new one in. The hardest part was pulling the fuel filler tube out and especially putting it back in. It was very hard to get it to go back in. I ended up using silicone lube spray. If you google vaseline for...

    Fuel tank grommet R&R

Thanks MoparMitch and Steve340. I actually have some vaseline in my garage from some past project. If you have seen it recommended many times for fuel gaskets and used it yourself with no issues that's what I was wanting to hear. This will be my next little project after I finish rebuilding my...

    Fuel tank grommet R&R

Sounds like a plan but isn't vaseline petroleum jelly, ie, petroleum based?

    Fuel tank grommet R&R

Any recommendation on lube? I saw a youtube video where a guy used windex or window cleaning solution.

    Fuel tank grommet R&R

I just ordered the grommet along with a couple of other gaskets I will be needing. It was cheaper than Roseville and the shipping charges were cheaper too. Looks like I'm committed now to replacing that damn grommet. Hopefully I don't end up having to take the rear valence off and dropping the...

    Fuel tank grommet R&R

Thanks! I'll check it out. I just got a heater box rebuild kit from DMT. I actually bought it from Yearone but it was produced at DMT.

    Fuel tank grommet R&R

Who is DMT and where did the one that didn't fit come from? I was looking at getting one from Roseville Mopar.

    Fuel tank grommet R&R

Yeah, Projects like this on these 50 year old cars always turns into a lot more work that you originally think. Rusty bolts, removing more pieces, etc. That's why I was hoping to just replace the grommet without having to drop the tank. Next thing you know you're having to buy a bunch more parts...

    Fuel tank grommet R&R

Thanks Moparlee and Rapidfire. Anyone else have any recommendations? Has anyone actually tried to replace the grommet without dropping the tank?

    Fuel tank grommet R&R

I would like to replace the grommet on my fuel tank on a 1970 Challenger where the fuel filler pipe goes into the tank. I think it leaks if and when I fill the tank full. I would like to do this without taking the tank out. I've taken the rubber cover off that's in the trunk that seals around...

Looking for some feedback on fast ratio steering arms?

Scary for me to buy any used parts on ebay but I might scan it. I've got some time till I need them. I can always bolt my old ones back on. They work fine, just don't look nice and shiny like the new ceramic coated ones.

Looking for some feedback on fast ratio steering arms?

12sandwich, thanks for the reply and the info. I ordered the full Borgeson kit from Jegs on their Cyber sale. Got $100 off. Looking forward to installing it and seeing how it drives. I'll put the steering conversion in while the 440 is out. Still shopping for headers. Hard to cough up $1000 for...

Looking for some feedback on fast ratio steering arms?

12sandwich, I'm looking at converting my 70 challenger from manual steering to power steering. Did you get the whole kit from Borgeson (pump, pullies and brackets along with the gear box)? If not where did you buy all the parts or was your car always power steering? I'm also wondering what brand...

    1970 440 SE? OR RTSE?

Thought I would chime in. Sounds like all the answers are correct as far as I know. My car is a 70 RTSE 440 4bbl 4spd with a Dana 60 4:10 rear end from the factory. No A/C. I don't know enough about all the option packages to know what other options were available but i do know they built them...

    Hello from Farmington, New Mexico

It's a real RT/SE 440 4BBl 4 spd with a dayna 60 4:10 rear end. I swapped out the 4:10's for 4:55's back in the late 70's. I never did any drag racing with it and I wanted the higher gears for highway driving. It's got power front disc brakes, rear drums, no A/C, no power steering. One of the...
