I use a stainless 1/8” welding rod, used to use a coat hanger but it bent so much

Mine kept coming loose and falling out no matter how tight I got them. Then after looking in service manual it said to tighten so many INCH pounds, did it and they never got loose again. After 50 years I’m a firm believer of Chryslers specs.

I moved out of my shop two years ago, and still looking. Stuff is spread everywhere.

Amazing, we ran (raced) roller cams for years with stock cover and no button, never had a problem like that. Check oil pump for breakage
