Thank again for the info. The lever on the transmission was a short one. Fortunately, I had a lever that matches the one in the pic (It was on an A-904 transmission!). I had to tweak the kickdown rod a little bit to get it to reach from the transmission to the linkage attachment point. My...
Thank you for your time and the wealth of information!! When I purchased the car, the owner had switched out the 6 pack in favor of a 4 barrel. I re-used the 4 barrel linkage when i put the 6 pack back on - do you know if the kickdown rod and transmission lever for the 4 barrel is different...
In regard to the posts about adjustment of the throttle kickdown rod, I have attached pictures of my current setup with the throttle closed and wide open. When wide open, the lever on the transmission is at the end of its rearward travel. I am at the end of the adjustment on the kickdown rod...
Thanks for the info. I'll give your suggestion a try. I manually shift it up and down now. If I leave it in D, it immediately shifts into second then third when I start out. Also, the transmission doesn't kick down if I get on the gas.
I had a Direct Connection / Mopar Performance shift kit installed in the A727 transmission out of my 1970 Dodge Challenger. I don't like how the transmission shifts and I would like to take the kit out. I saved all the parts that were removed from the transmission and saved the instructions...
Just caught up on my post. I was planning on purchasing the Holley Blackheart headers for my swap. Is the reason they won't fit because of the RMS? I am using the stock k-frame with the Holley motor mounts - the 45 degree oil filter adapter works with this setup.
Can anyone provide a definitive answer for the location dimensions and color (gold or silver) of a pentastar on an e-body fender. I installed an OEM fender on a '70 Challenger - no mounting holes for the pentastar. (The original fender was rusted out so I bought a replacement from Chrysler...
Thank you for your response, Moparleo. I think the Holley swap kit moves the engine and transmission further forward so cutting out the tunnel is not necessary. I am also trying to do the swap without breaking the bank!
I am swapping a 5.7 Gen III hemi with 8HP70 trans into my 1971 Dodge Challenger R/T using the Holley swap kits. I am at the point where I am ready to put the K-member with motor/trans up under the car.
Does anyone have any info on the transmission / transmission tunnel modifications required...
NIB - PRW SFI Chromoly Steel Flexplate Part #1839200. Adapts 5.7 / 6.1 Liter Gen 3 Hemi to A727 or A904 Mopar Transmission. After ordering, I decided to use the 8HP70 transmission in my swap. Too late to return it when I made the decision.

The seat tracks in my 1970 Challenger T/A were very stiff. I am having the seats re-upholstered, so I figured it was a good time to restore the seat tracks. I disassembled the 6 way seat track and found one of the zinc guides had a flange broken off. I did a search of the interweb, and did...
When I put the car in gear, the engine really pulls down, drops about 500 RPM. Also, when I start the car cold, the engine runs about 2000 RPM, drops down some after it warms up. I kinda suspect vacuum leak, but I haven't taken the time to check it yet.
I had the carburetors rebuilt by...
I replaced the vacuum advance with an oem unit. It did not include the spring, unfortunately. I put my best guess for a spring in it. I would be curious to know what the spring rate should actually be.
Thank you for your response!!
