8HP70 transmission in 1971 Dodge Challenger

Just caught up on my post. I was planning on purchasing the Holley Blackheart headers for my swap. Is the reason they won't fit because of the RMS? I am using the stock k-frame with the Holley motor mounts - the 45 degree oil filter adapter works with this setup.

    Pentastar type and location

Can anyone provide a definitive answer for the location dimensions and color (gold or silver) of a pentastar on an e-body fender. I installed an OEM fender on a '70 Challenger - no mounting holes for the pentastar. (The original fender was rusted out so I bought a replacement from Chrysler...

8HP70 transmission in 1971 Dodge Challenger

Thank you for your response, Moparleo. I think the Holley swap kit moves the engine and transmission further forward so cutting out the tunnel is not necessary. I am also trying to do the swap without breaking the bank!

8HP70 transmission in 1971 Dodge Challenger

I am swapping a 5.7 Gen III hemi with 8HP70 trans into my 1971 Dodge Challenger R/T using the Holley swap kits. I am at the point where I am ready to put the K-member with motor/trans up under the car. Does anyone have any info on the transmission / transmission tunnel modifications required...

6 way adjustable seat track restoration

The seat tracks in my 1970 Challenger T/A were very stiff. I am having the seats re-upholstered, so I figured it was a good time to restore the seat tracks. I disassembled the 6 way seat track and found one of the zinc guides had a flange broken off. I did a search of the interweb, and did...

Dual Point Distributor Vacuum Advance Spring

When I put the car in gear, the engine really pulls down, drops about 500 RPM. Also, when I start the car cold, the engine runs about 2000 RPM, drops down some after it warms up. I kinda suspect vacuum leak, but I haven't taken the time to check it yet. I had the carburetors rebuilt by...

Dual Point Distributor Vacuum Advance Spring

I replaced the vacuum advance with an oem unit. It did not include the spring, unfortunately. I put my best guess for a spring in it. I would be curious to know what the spring rate should actually be. Thank you for your response!!

Dual Point Distributor Vacuum Advance Spring

I did put a Petronix electronic ignition conversion in it, however.

Dual Point Distributor Vacuum Advance Spring

The previous owner of my T/A brazed the distributor vacuum advance arm in place (Pictures attached). I replaced the vacuum advance unit with a similar unit. We dyno'ed the engine after rebuild, the tech at the dyno shop thought there should be a spring in the vacuum advance unit. Checked the...

    carpet supports

Thank you, once again, Floyd. I probably couldn't find them because I did not know their proper name. They are crazy expensive!! I am thinking of putting a gel coat over the ones I have to strengthen them up. I figure I don't have anything to lose, they are so brittle, they are going to...

    carpet supports

The old carpet out of my Challenger has these plastic "carpet supports" glued to the carpet. They cover the seat belt anchor points on the outside of the front seats. I have attached pics of the one on the passenger side. The parts are very brittle, seeing as how they are 50 years old. I did...

    Antenna wire routing

Not sure if this should go in electrical or interior - but - does anyone have routing description or routing pics for the antenna wire on a 1970 Challenger T/A? My antenna wire has a plug on it like it goes thru some sheet metal, has a clip on it and has tape on it. I took it out some time...
