This is from my 1970 Barracuda. I had just taken the door panel off and took this photo to make sure I out it back on correctly with the new pieces, which it did.
Your 70 Challenger should have a shoulder belt. The problem with it is that it doesn’t retract. When I tried wearing it in my ‘Cuda, I felt trapped because I couldn’t move. But, the mounting point for the shoulder belt worked perfectly as the shoulder belt mount for the retractable belt. I...
Great point. Obviously OEM manufacturers know what they are doing. My concern is once they are in the junkyard we don’t know what has happened to them during their time in the car and there is no liability on the part of the producer at that point. Though, I once saw a 1970 Challenger that...

I mounted the real under the carpet like the original lap belt because I couldn’t stand looking at that box hanging there, but it has to be a reel that will work without being level.
I had this problem when my throttle cable became too worn. It was the original cable, so 50 years old. I replaced it and it kept doing the same thing, so it took several attempts to get the adjustment just right. Adjusted just the slightest bit too long or short made it catch and hold the...
