    The PM prefix was used in both 1968 and 1969. If 1968, they didn't put the VIN on the block. If 1969, it's still not the original engine. It should have F318 as a prefix in 1970.     Timing cover marks left or right?

    Your cover is a late '68 or '69 small block cover. Looks like your replacement was made in 1983. Just match the cover with the correct balancer or remark the one you have if necessary. It's always advisable to verify TDC on any rebuild or parts swap anyway. Use a piston stop to check it.

    3418915 casting 340 and 360 head 1970-2. They were machined for both 1.88 and 2.02 intake valves depending on year and engine.
