2.5 from headers to x pipe, then run along the tunnel to Summit welded mufflers, Turn downs come out of the mufflers towards the tires.
Engine is a small block at 11:1, so its got a bit of growl too it. It doesn't seem loud idling in the garage. I haven't got it out on the street yet. I...
Biggest issue with tie rod deflection is the slot in the sleeves, not the diameter of the threads. Use a solid 9/16 sleeve and you get the same improvement as changing to 11/16 system. Yes 11/16 is beefier than the original 9/16, and these days are the same cost, but the 9/16 units are capable...
I'm using 1.24 t-bars with the 414 oval track leaf springs, 1.125" front s-bar and a 1" rear s-bar. According to my calcs, this should produce a nice handling balance with my small block. It would work for a big block as well, but will use up the tires faster.
If you wanted more than a 1.25...
Unfortunately, we don’t have a lot of choices when it comes to big torsion bars. If there aren’t any in stock with your sources and you’re not wanting to wait for their next production run, that only leaves web boards and auction sites to search for the elusive big bars.
The other option is to...
1.24 t-bar is a 400# wheel rate. That is equivalent to an 800# spring in Brand C, which is a pretty hot street and mid-range racing handling point. Of course, you can use higher sway bar rates to offset the loss in wheel rate form smaller torsion bars to retain handling capability. The Hotchkis...
When I was younger didn't have a welder, I bolted in sub-frame connectors in B bodies that made significant improvements in rigidity. They improved things enough that doors that wouldn't open when using a bumper jack were able to open and close normally. Are they better than welded, no, but they...
Bolt in connectors are fine for most applications. Are they the best way to go, no, but they won't fail and rip out your frame rails unless you are running ridiculous amounts of power, in which case you wouldn't be running bolt in sub-cons anyway.
In that case, do nothing with it and let it sit. IF you ever sell and the new buyer wants it, you can provide it.
IMO, numbers matching in a 318 E body does not make it more valuable than your current 416. While it may be rare to have those together, rare does not always equate to valuable or...
We wonder that with the benefit of hindsight, access to our current technology, and neglecting to remember that the Factory built cars predominately for transportation that had to be warrantied, not racing. At the time, some of these were considered to be big stroke engines.
Looking for a dented, bent, or rusty fender that has some fender lip area remaining. I don't need the whole fender, just a section as show in the picture. GOt less than that. I'm interested in that too. At this time, I'm not thinking it will matter if its left or right as I'm only using sections...
1/2 inch is fine, heck, I've run this down to a 1/4 inch in some places, IF you can avoid contact of the widest part of the tire and the narrowest part of the opening. Yours looks close enough it may cut the tire, but camera angles can be deceiving. I would check how far into the well that tire...
Uneven drag links is such a common occurrence that the Mopar Chassis manual has directions for leveling it. You can shim the steering box or you can file fit and weld a washer to the idler arm mount.
I haven't heard of "drop" pitman and idlers to correct this for classic mopars and even if they...
