Has anyone modified the reverse light lenses on a 72-74?

Copilot....read post #8 for a quick explanation how I did this. As far as jus painting them red. My first attempt, I took reverse lens and removed the clear insert. fabbed up a center section of red lens to fit the hole and sealed it. It looked ok, but when illuminated, it only lit the center because the reflector ring was still there!

The newer cars are HUGE, I'm guessing you had to cut and splice the new panel several places to fit?

Actually once I cut out the rusty tail panel and trimmed it to fit, it kind of fit right into place. I did fabricate the backing plate to bolt it in. Was easier than you might think

This car is still a work in progress so the lights are not all adjusted yet for final assembly. There was no cutting the actual width of the 2024 tail lights. They come in 3 separate sections and when put together the width is near perfect fit on 70 - 74 challenger.
The headlights were a little more work

The newer Challengers are actually narrower than the old ones. Taller too.
