My 71 which has the belt mouldings as an option also has those two holes for mounting the trim.

My original 71 R/T grill inserts also were not textured.

There is also a part number just above the valve stem which is unreadable.

'71 Challenger had an 8000 rpm tac and no fasten seat belt indicator light.

Are those quarter panel pieces smooth or do they have the groove in them for a 71?

Measure the length of the new bars compared to the original bars. I have re-built three front suspensions and that end play seems normal. Be sure to apply grease to the ends and the sockets. That hole on the end might have been there for the fabrication process. Is it threaded or just...

Completely normal, no boot between the two.
