Hello. New to the forum, and new to Mopars. It's good to be here. I'm building an iron block 426 Hemi and I'm currently in the market for a car for it. Yes, I put the cart in front of the horse, but so it goes. I'm looking at 72/73 E-body cars for this project. Wondering if anyone on the forum has done this. I've done a search, but failed miserably.

Welcome to FEBO from the desert! A 426 Hemi will fit fine in a 72/73 E-Body! Best to weld a skid plate to the k-frame as the 6 quart Hemi pan rides a little lower. Plus bigger torsion bars are best unless you are only drag racing it! 😁

Welcome to FEBOI at SPACE GHOST! I mean COAST. That's a spooky thought what your going to build. You do have the 426 horse be for the cart. That's a good start.

Welcome to the site from Arkansas!
sounds like a fun project.
You should be able to locate a body without much trouble.

Welcome!

I went down to the Space Coast in April, went to the 71 Cuda giveaway at the American Muscle Car Museum in Melbourne. Didn't win..😒, saw next years car though - 426 Hemi Challenger! The museum is awesome btw.

you have a complete engine and want a hemi car, or you have a block and need everything? I have 'everything' in West Palm Beach.

Welcome to the forum.

What I like about these cars, is the differing engine sizes are interchangeable... and with the correct OEM parts, bolt right in without fuss or muss. many with deep enough pockets have made the swap to 426. but as you deviate from OEM design and parts, it can get just as messy as it does with any other maker, racer, dragster or custom build. More stuff to figure and get right, before things seemed dialed in.

most 426 hemi-specific parts, however, be they OEM original, or aftermarket, can command 10 times the cost over parts for other engine sizes.
