    Paint code break-down

My son just got a '64 New Yorker Salon. Unfortunately, the engine had already been swapped (it currently has a '64 361 under the hood). We were working on the fender tag and ran into a bit of a roadblock. For the trim we came up with blue interior, cloth and leather combination. Exterior...

    Scary Ride! Cool Picture!

I remember seeing the Challenger pic in a magazine. It was at a test track, in Europe somewhere, I think.

anybody ever wonder about the 64 cuda to the mustang

Pony cars had small blocks in them, muscle cars had big blocks. Or that is how it's been explained to me...

    Just thinking

My son is 20. He already appreciates the cars we grew up with and is wanting to get one. His current daily-driver is a 79 LTD Country Squire wagon. I know it's a Ford, but at least it isn't one of these everything looks the same modern cars.

No spark from distributor, good spark from coil...

Not having any luck finding the disconnect I need for my ballast resistor... (No good junk yards around here!)

    Scam Alert

My son got one of these also, complete with PayPal logo. Often the grammar and punctuation are dead give-aways.

No spark from distributor, good spark from coil...

Okay, so I replaced all of the wires including the coil wire making sure I had a good tight fit. Had to spread a couple of the terminals a bit for the distributor, but otherwise no problems. Turned the key and.........nothing. So I started looking (again) for anything loose, broken or...

No spark from distributor, good spark from coil...

How do I check the coil supply pin at firewall connector? And I do have a tach - it's all over the place when I'm cranking the engine. I think I may have over-crimped the coil wire when changing the terminal for the coil and damaged the wire. I run an MSD Blaster coil which takes a special...

    Engine cleaning

I've always used Simple Green. Cleans well and doesn't hurt the paint. Also doesn't whiten rubber or plastic so you don't have to be super-careful when you apply it.

    Leaking 727 shifter shaft seal

Thanks, guys. I'll work on that once I get the car running.

No spark from distributor, good spark from coil...

Thanks, Austa. I replaced the coil wire and now I don't even have spark from the coil! Made sure it was clipped on, but no good. I was going to change all of the wires, but the set I got was too short. So much for "exact replacement" and "custom fit". Even if I don't use the loom to keep...

No spark from distributor, good spark from coil...

Yes, the coil is sparking while cranking. Possibly bad coil wire - will replace all wires tomorrow after work. Replaced dist cap and rotor as well as ECU. Found a way to test pickup coil online - will check that tomorrow also. Other than some small obscure wire loose or burned through...

    Leaking 727 shifter shaft seal

The shifter shaft seal on my 74 Barracuda is leaking. I have been told that this can be replaced without dropping the tranny, but I'm not so sure. Doesn't seem to be enough clearance on top to align the new one and tap it in. Has anyone done this and if so can you give step-by-step...

    What would you do?

I would keep the 340 in it, checking it over and replacing what needs to be. And the others are correct - that shop is killing you the way they are stripping the car!
