Thanks for your thoughts and ideas. I'm thinking that filling the bowls might be the easiest and most practical way to go, as it would be only after the car has been sitting for an extended period of time.
The following questions relate to a '70 Challenger R/T with a 383 and AFB carb. I'll give you some background info first. I live in Alberta, so we have pretty harsh winters where classic cars do not venture outdoors for months at a time and over the summer the car may only see the street on a...
I got a reply from CVF the manufacturers of the Saginaw pumps . The PRV is only used on Mustang 2 rack. I guess the Dodge steering box can handle the higher pressure.
So , the pressure line is a direct bolt in to the pump.
I'm in the middle of changing the pump on a '70 383 which has a Saginaw pump. In doing some internet research I keep seeing references to a pressure reducing valve which would be installed where the pressure line attaches to the pump. The old pump did not have a valve. The pump is the one with...
Brake spring
As far as I can tell, the spring keeps the bake pedal arm up and maintains pressure
on the brake lights switch.
I don't think the mopar dealers could help so it's a visit to the auto wrecker.
This is a real simple assembly so I'm guessing that all mopars from that era had that...
Thanks again for your help, I'll give this a try as per your pictures.
Have a great Christmas and maybe Santa will leave a Hemi 'cuda under your tree.

Just putting a"70 Challenger together and I have a question.
I've reinstalled the heater cables and they do not look right.
One cable is up against the the throttle cable which will cause it to wear thru' '

This is a non A/C car.
There is about a 1/2...
I'm presently putting a '70 challenger back together and need a little advice.
I have a spring that I had tagged " brake return spring " . This is an auto trans car.
I can't find an obvious place on the brake pedal arm to install a return spring.
Is the spring for the break pedal or is it for...
I am in the process of upgrading the ignition on a '70 Challenger RT/ 383.
I have the Mopar Performance Electronic Ignition Kit, new engine harness and a hi-voltage coil.
I have heard that when doing this upgrade that the alternator needs to be upgraded also ?? To what ?? Do other components...
Hello all,
I'm in the process of restoring a '70 Challenger and I have a question before I throw money at a new rally hood .
Has anyone had experience with the repro. hoods that Goodmark for example is distributing.
I'm saying distributing because they may or may not be stamping them themselves...
I think you are right.
Also spend some time shimming the front bolts to make sure that the hinge is not binding and the movement is as free as possible.
The hinges are new , the springs are original.
From what some of the other suggestions advise is , to set the hinges down on the rear bolts. This should square the hinges to the hood.
The other item would be to shim the front bolt to make sure there is no binding within the hinge. Point being to...
Just joined into what looks like a very interesting, informative and helpful site.
Here,s my problem;
I've replaced the hood hinges on my '70 RT [ STEEL HOOD ] . After aligning the hood and adjusting for up and down I have a problem with the hood in the closed position. The hood at the hinges...
