    Possible vacuum issues

Thanks for your reply and the readings info. Will try. My first thoughts were that as then engine got warmer that it was losing vacuum and the carb was closing.

    Possible vacuum issues

Thanks for your response, I think I'll go back to the guy that rebuilt and restored the carb.

    Possible vacuum issues

'70 383 magnum w/ AFB carb. Here's the issue. The engine starts and runs great when cold [ summer cold ] and as it warms up. Then as the temp. rises within the normal range the RPM's begin to increase. Within the normal zone as per the guage , the higher the temp. goes the faster the engine...

    Electric Fuel Pump

Thanks for your thoughts and ideas. I'm thinking that filling the bowls might be the easiest and most practical way to go, as it would be only after the car has been sitting for an extended period of time.

    Electric Fuel Pump

The following questions relate to a '70 Challenger R/T with a 383 and AFB carb. I'll give you some background info first. I live in Alberta, so we have pretty harsh winters where classic cars do not venture outdoors for months at a time and over the summer the car may only see the street on a...

    Power steering pump

I got a reply from CVF the manufacturers of the Saginaw pumps . The PRV is only used on Mustang 2 rack. I guess the Dodge steering box can handle the higher pressure. So , the pressure line is a direct bolt in to the pump.

    Power steering pump

I'm in the middle of changing the pump on a '70 383 which has a Saginaw pump. In doing some internet research I keep seeing references to a pressure reducing valve which would be installed where the pressure line attaches to the pump. The old pump did not have a valve. The pump is the one with...

    Brake pedal spring

Brake spring As far as I can tell, the spring keeps the bake pedal arm up and maintains pressure on the brake lights switch. I don't think the mopar dealers could help so it's a visit to the auto wrecker. This is a real simple assembly so I'm guessing that all mopars from that era had that...

    Heater control cables

Heater cables Thanks a lot 6pak. The cables do go over the yoke. This will save me a lot a time and skinned knuckles. Thanks again.

    Heater control cables

Just putting a"70 Challenger together and I have a question. I've reinstalled the heater cables and they do not look right. One cable is up against the the throttle cable which will cause it to wear thru' ' and the other cable just flops around loose. This is a non A/C car. There is about a 1/2...

    Brake pedal spring

I'm presently putting a '70 challenger back together and need a little advice. I have a spring that I had tagged " brake return spring " . This is an auto trans car. I can't find an obvious place on the brake pedal arm to install a return spring. Is the spring for the break pedal or is it for...

    Ignition upgrade

I am in the process of upgrading the ignition on a '70 Challenger RT/ 383. I have the Mopar Performance Electronic Ignition Kit, new engine harness and a hi-voltage coil. I have heard that when doing this upgrade that the alternator needs to be upgraded also ?? To what ?? Do other components...

    Repro rally hoods

Hello all, I'm in the process of restoring a '70 Challenger and I have a question before I throw money at a new rally hood . Has anyone had experience with the repro. hoods that Goodmark for example is distributing. I'm saying distributing because they may or may not be stamping them themselves...

Thanks, but I'm going to try Brads70 advise first , mainly because he also had the problem and the solution worked.
