Anyone have any tips or measurement methods for replacing cross member? I have mine out and I notice the frame rails flex up and down a fair amount.. Should I make the parallel with the bottom of the rocker panels?

I have a 1973 challenger. So I have looked around. Can anyone tell me why the replacement crossmember description says I have to use the 70-72 transmission bracket? What am I not seeing is different
