    '74 Challenger w/ 318 ::: MOTOR MOUNT question

'74 Challenger w/ 318 ::: MOTOR MOUNT question This past season I started having a problem when I'd punch the gas in first gear, usually going up hill. I would hear a scraping sound that my mechanic eventually determined was caused by the torque of the motor, no longer held properly tight by...

Header suggestions for 1974 Challenger with a 318.

Thanks for the tip on the Hedmans. I'm considering "shorty" headers as they would appear to address the size/length issue. I see both Hedman and TTI make shorty headers. I understand the shortys don't make as much horsepower but I'm not really concerned with a 318. Any opinions on shortys?

Header suggestions for 1974 Challenger with a 318.

The driver's side header on my 318 Challenger has always hung low, so much so that it occasionally scrapes the ground. While it's still functional it has a pretty profound flat spot on it now. I found the headers on-line about 15-16 years ago. They were a cheap Asian import if memory serves. Can...

Borgenson power steering conversion. Who has it?

I finally got my Borgenson kit installed and I must say I'm very happy. I WAS expecting to be blown away, frankly, but that was not the case. The car simply drives and steers normally - not like a boat.

Who has the Borgenson power steering box for E-Body?

Thank you everyone. I just ordered #800127 conversion kit with the VJ coupler, Hose kit, Saginaw PS pump w/ pulley and the PS pump bracket. Do I need the PS cooler kit they show on the Borgenson site? Did I miss anything?

    Any shock absorber suggestions....

Thank you both. Who sells leaf springs?

    Any shock absorber suggestions....

...for my '74 Challenger? I'm getting the Borgenson steering put in and I figured I'd look into new shocks as long as we're under the car. I bought the car with REAR air shocks 26 years ago. I replaced them with another set of air shocks 13-14 years ago. Standard front shocks about then too...

Who has the Borgenson power steering box for E-Body?

Yikes! I went to their site and the pump was like $650. I don't recall if the ancillary parts were part of the listing. I'm guessing not.

Borgenson power steering conversion. Who has it?

I've heard only good things and I see the price has dropped on the E-Body version. I have a '74 Challenger with a 318. I'd love to tighten up the steering. I would have the unit installed professionally. Is there anything to look out for? Any tips you can give this novice? Thank you!

Modern headlights and tail light bulbs for my 1974 Challenger

Forgive if this has been covered before (I couldn't find it in search) but does anybody use modern LED(?) headlights and tail light bulbs in their classic Mopar? Are they as simple to install as just replacing the current head lights and tail lamps using the original wiring and sockets? Or is...

    Flip Top fuel cap

I've been trying to find one for years as well. I have a disassembled factory cap under the flip-top but it still won't twist tight.

Seat belt extender for '74 Challenger, driver side?

My three point seat belt harness gets hung up and won't pull out all of the way. I can "work it" for hours and sometimes get it to pull out to its full length but the "fix" is temporary. I'm not a little guy but the belt used to pull out further and fit me easily. No more. Is there a seat belt...

    WTB Stereo plate question

I took mine off and stored it. A regular size AM/FM/CD after-market unit fits the opening perfectly and can be solidly installed with a single back-strap. It's all in your priorities, however. Some folks want originality. Some folks want a 300+ watt, seven channel, digital streaming system with...
