Did they make any 70 Challengers with a 383 HP non R/T car

Ha, you guys don't miss a thing, Cuda Hunter caught that also when I first posted the tag decode sheet when I first introduced myself. It's actually Y05, the tag is pretty rusty, some of the numbers are hard to read. I'll have to redo the fender tag decoder sheet and not use the old one...

Here's a pic of the actual fender tag. Look in the lower left corner for the E63 code.

For reference, here's my Challenger with that E63 code. See fender tag read out. The engine has been long gone.

    Assembly line

Thanks for that pic! Yep, that looks just like what I saw when I worked at Dodge Main, the only difference is the Volare & Aspens had their hood and front fenders on, must be a Uni-body thing. No masks on the workers and some guys would sneak a smoke or two when the line was down. Additional...

    Assembly line

Ok, here's another another Dodge Main installment. So the farthest or closest to the end of the assembly I worked at was in the pit as an inspector. The cars were about 90% completed by that time, aka, body on the chassis, wheels and tires on, etc. The cars rolled overhead on tracks and we...

    Assembly line

Thanks to everyone for you kind comments and additional info. I do remember seeing the one PDF on the complete history of Dodge Main before, very good article, thanks for posting. The body dipping article above is how I remember it. Of course, I couldn't go inside chambers for safety reasons...

    Assembly line

I worked at Dodge Main during the Aspen / Volare time frame (1976-78?), where they made Cuda and Challenger early. My dad also worked they as a pipefitter forever there and ended up at Jefferson Assembly plant after Dodge Main was shut down. That description of the assemble line is very...

Hi, New Guy from Detroit Area

Ya, that makes sense. It does look like more of a 05 than a 02. Is there anyway you can tell if the Rally dash came with it from the fender tag? Or do I need a broadcast sheet? I haven't found a build sheet yet, but I never had the front seats out either.

Hi, New Guy from Detroit Area

Here ya go! The Y02 looks like it's right below one of the screw holes. I contacted the guy I sold the Cuda to and he said it's ok to show the fender tag so long as I blurred or blacked out the last four number of the VIN. The Cuda was sold to a guy on another ebody site, I'll see if he can...

Hi, New Guy from Detroit Area

Yep, that what I thought, but I'm no expert when it comes decoding, or anything else for that matter. Ya, was just looking over that decoder print out a couple of days ago and noticed that about the rear valance and dual exhaust tips. They must have been added on later. Is there anyway to...
