Here's some old Superbird pics from the 80's or 90's era. They had several superbird owners run their cars around the track at MIS Michigan International Speedway before the big race. We used to go to the races and tent camp in the infield, which always a wild time. We saw a lot of crazy stuff staying on the infield.

Here's some more pics of the actual races at MIS and some scenery too. Like I was saying, the infield was aways crazy, even saw a flying tent. I can't believe I got my girlfriend (now wife) to camp with me there. It was an alcohol infused good time, and when a i mean a alcohol infused I mean the people too, not just the cars. I walked the wife to the bathroom at night, some drunk had 6 foot live snake and try to scare the women with. So the next morning every buddy is hung over and some dude on top of a big RV decided to blast Aerosmith with huge speakers at full volume. I thought my head was going to explode. Getting out of there was even crazier. Everybody raced across the infield to get to the exit, I was surprised that no pedestrians got hit. It looked like a big Roman Chariot race across the entire infield. Some poor guy decided to leave his tent up and wait the crowd out. Well he was sitting in a lawn chair drinking a beer in the morning with cars flying all a round him and his tent less than a couple feet. So, about the tent, crowd in the pit stands during the race started to turn around and pointing at the infield at tent that was flying about 30-40 feet in the air. I don't know if the race cars circling on the track caused a dust devil and picked up the tent or what happened. Or just Michigan weather.

Thanks, it was a Canon T70 35mm film camera. It was the cheapest camera I could get with a automatic film winder. I think the lens I was using a Tokina 400mm F/5.6, I had other lens I would change out. Not a high end camera setup, but I couldn't afford that much back then, and I still can't. Nowadays, I just use my cell phone like everyone else. My best guess on the year would be 1984 based on the NASCARs were all/mostly Buick Grand Nationals.
