I have two E-Body automatic consoles. One was cast mid-year 1969 and other 1970. No holes in either side. I came across a console on Marketplace cast in 1972 with said strap.
"These days, we have you tube video and online forums to nurse us through anything we cannot figure out." My thoughts/hopes exactly. I'll probably wait until after summer to remove the entire drive train. I'll keep you posted. Thanks for everyone's input, it's been very helpful.
Thanks Guys!
I looked up both books, I'll order the "Chrysler Torqueflite A-904 & A-727 Transmissions".
The price of the Carl Munroe book surprised the heck out of me. $12 for a kindle version and hundreds of dollars everywhere I looked for paperback, ouch! I'll have to see if we still...
Thank you for your helpful post. I do have the book you referenced on my list of things to order. I don't want to fool myself but rebuilding a stock 727 doesn't look crazy difficult. I'll find out once I start disassembling the car. One of the hurdles I'm sure I'll have to cross will be how...
Thank you @pschlosser. Although it's not what I really wanted to hear I at least have an idea of what's ahead of me. Ugh! The "PK" number is PK3410672L 29 [that's all I can see at the moment]. Theirs also a large casting number visible from the engine bay by the firewall, it looks like...
I spent a little time looking through the parts manual for numbers related to valve bodies but got a little lost. I'm trying to find casting/part numbers for 727 valve body used with a 440-6 engine. I may be assuming incorrectly that the valve body would be different depending on the engine...
The original transmission in my car was switched to a reverse manual valve body. I'd like to revert back to stock. What is typically involved when changing to a reverse manual valve body? Is it only a valve body swap and removal of kickdown linkage? I see references in the rebuild kit...
Hopefully these pics help. The orange car is a 1970 Challenger. The marker light I'm holding is from a 70 Dart. The second pic is the back of the Dart marker light showing the casting number. I bought the Dart marker light with mounting bucket and related acorn nuts at the 2025 Chrysler...
Hopefully your a trustworthy member (I really mean that). I'm not trying to accuse you of being a scammer but your actions so far do fit many of the common hallmarks of one. I hate to be so direct and sincerely hope I'm wrong but only time will tell. Too many members have been scammed...
@Randy Lane,
While your taking a pic of the part number as @Challenger RTA suggested, could you also take a pic of the length with a tape measure and also with all of the parts face down please?
