The lottery for one. The odds of hitting a Pick 6 can vary depending on the specific lottery game. Generally, the odds of winning the jackpot are 1 in 13,983,816. This means that for every 13,983,816 tickets purchased, one lucky person will win the jackpot.

About 40 million lightning strikes hit the ground in the United States each year. But the odds of being struck by lightning in a given year are less than one in a million, and almost 90% of all lightning strike victims survive. The odds of being struck multiple times is even less, with the record being seven times in one lifetime. There are some factors that can put you at greater risk for being struck, such as participating in outdoor recreational activities or working outside. Regional and seasonal differences can also affect your risk of being struck by lightning.

Just my 2¢. A pick 6 there might have been a chance. I admit I would drop a few dollars at a time a year. If the amount is higher I go and donate a few more dollars.

A number of years back the amount of numbers were increased. That made it completely astronomical odds to win. So I just don't play it any more. In short I might have played it six times a year.
I might play once or twice a year when the pot is high. I'll just take my chances at lightning.

It just gets me were the fund actually go if they make it. I just don't see it. There seems to be a lot of issues that are not being address that it should be. They all seem to need more. As I understand the winning are only about half of what was taken in. Who's or what's pockets are getting lined.

The other thing is when the lottery is not hit for months and the winning are astronomical.
It tells you it's a scam. I would rather see a 1000 millionaires than 1 billionaire. It is what it is.
The proof is in the pudding. It is know how many tickets hit and where.
A fixed game.

Lottery proceeds are often used to fund various state programs, including public education, Seniors, property taxes, veterans services, environmental initiatives, and crime prevention. Each state decides how to allocate these funds, but common beneficiaries include schools, parks, and community services

I'm a man of numbers. I believe in them. I run them before I do something. Figures don't lie, But liars figure.
The bottom line is. If you make a illegal game of chance and get caught you go to jail. If state does it. It's a legal shell game and they always win.
Scam : a fraudulent or deceptive act or operation. They come in many forms. I have lived through all below and more.

Thought I would raise the temperature this cool morning.

I found this on the internet. So it must be true.

I don't think I would want to be near anyone outside who has been struck by lightning more than once! Especially since I'm pretty tall (6'3")!

I agree, lotteries are a scam. I think a better solution for raising money for a charity is a 50/50 raffle! The charity will get half and the one lucky winner will get half! Another option is raffling a cool price like the Barracuda the kids built! I'm sure their school got some decent funding on that.
