    Fender Tag Question

MoparCarGuy has all kinds of factory documentation. So odds are, it's a reproduced tag like he says!

    Help with Vin Number

While broadcast sheets were rare in LA built cars, I see to remember that about 10% had them. Figures crossed for you.

    Help with Vin Number

I think there's one coming up for sale at the Mecum auction. Might be worth keeping an eye on.

    Fender Tag Question

Well, since it's a special order car "Y05", and if the salesman was willing to check A31 for a 318, it looks to be possible. They even ordered a Rallye hood with hood pins and a "Go Wing", plus chrome exhaust tips. It would be an interesting Barracuda convertible to see! Also, it would be...

New guy with '74 Barracuda questions

I, too, would be very surprised if a 70-73 26" radiator fan shroud for an E-Body wouldn't fit a 74. Mopar made new part number radiators for every year and combination and I never understood why.

Tail panel stripping and hood paint.

It's your car, you can do it how you want. I've never investigated it, but with all the big hood decals on the newer Challengers and Jeep Trailhawks, seems to me there's a lot of places that could install the hood decal for a good price.

    4 GATE ADAPTER SLAP STICK

Here's some pictures of what needs to be done for the 518 (46rh) install in an E-Body. It's really easy.

Tail panel stripping and hood paint.

The dimensions are there in the drawing Moparleo supplied. Section A-A has the pin stripe as .20" wide and the gap at .25" wide. The width of the main stripe is encoded in detail Z - 134.00-128.85=5.15". They're not easy drawings to interpret until you've stared at them long enough.

    Head Gasket leak

Ricks72Chlgr440 is correct, you're in this deep, check everything out and machine/replace as necessary. May as well do it right and it will last forever. 👍

New guy with '74 Barracuda questions

From the factory, the doors had a plastic moisture barrier held in place by a type of sticky putty that never really got hard. Obviously, they make better moisture barrier material now. I'd sure make sure everything inside the door was working great with little to no wear before putting a nice...

    Head Gasket leak

Believe it or not, some exhaust valves had a reduced diameter near the head. How does it compare to other exhaust valves? How's the wear in the cylinder head valve guides and seats?

    Help with Vin Number

Personally, I think a good restomod Hellcat would be worth more than a numbers machining 318 car, but keep all the original drivetrain and documentation in place. In my opinion, if you have the build sheet, a Fender Tag can be reproduced. Otherwise it's really difficult and sketchy.

    Help with Vin Number

I would keep the original 318 and transmission since you have them and stash them in the corner and build it how you want.

    Head Gasket leak

I've cleaned water passages on bare blocks with a pressure washer. Without tearing it completely down because water will get every where, I'd try just flushing with a garden hose and water line normal pressure (50 - 80 psi). Each side of the block water jackets is separate from the other, so...

    70 six pac

Think of it this way, price of car plus half the value of parts you need to put into it is the net worth when it's done. Your labor, unfortunately, adds no value to the car. Need to make sure it's not a 318 with a six pack intake and carbs. And as Cuda Hunter mentioned, 340 six pack motors had a...

    Help with Vin Number

Yes, it's a numbers matching car and typical of LA to switch the "0" and "E" on the radiator support and cowl body stampings. And the double strike on the engine block is common because that high nickel cast iron is hard material! It's also helpful to have the door sticker that lists the VIN...
