how far does the blower overhang the thermostat area ? No personal experience with the modman but...
Meziere makes a low profile housing -
Water Neck, Low Swivel 360 degree, fits Chevy and BB Mopar
Or you can try a slant six housing - not sure how tall they are but definitely cheaper...
That casting number was mis-labeled in the website - it is pretty much a 80-83 318 engine.
See link to thread on forabodiesonly below
318 race engine 4104230-318 any info. on these engines?
That's how I usually do it - but I just didn't want to dick with the torsion bars... not a big deal really but I just had it in my head to just get it done.
Well I'll never know if that would have worked --- but the problem is fixed now -
I was actually very surprised how smoothly the engine came out and back in.
The headers were some no name brand headers off E-bay - came with 3/8" flanges and the tubes are pretty thick walled it seems. They...
So - does anyone else hate when an exhaust stud breaks? Channel locks? no dice. EZ Out? no dice. Welding a nut on? Snapped off....
So I ended up with this... ended up just pulling the engine so I could fish out the stud.... with a drill.
On the plus side it allowed me ample space...
I've seen them both ways as well - I got a system off a 70 Challenger and it was silver - I painted it black because "why not"
maybe it had something to do with the manufacturer or something?
Yeah... their Gen III Headers are garbage. I called them out 9 years ago at the Spring Fling - they used the 5.7 headers and changed the flange for the 6.1... The headers hit the factory A/C compressor, Torsion Bar, and TTIs own motor mount plates... was not impressed by them (nor...
Have a 6.1L in my 68 Charger - did the swap way back when only a couple people had done it (2008) -- Originally did a 5-speed and currently swapping in a T-56
mounts, headers, etc are all available. Car is very fun and very reliable.
...activate it when you brake) or you can simply leave it disconnected. It is a little spring so make it easier to get into reverse but you can shift to reverse without it being activated without much effort.
4) Skip Shift solenoid - F*CK this thing... don't need it - don't wire it. Dumb thing
tunnel is way too small - You'll need to open it up a LOT. Fab the torsion bar cross member. Crate a mount and bracket. Also the TR-6060 usually use a funky remote mount shifter - the T-56 uses a direct mount shifter.
For reference: I believe all challengers use the same disc brakes for the year - ie. the disc brakes on a 1970 slant six would be the same as a 1970 440 car.
just take it to the machine shop - I agree with moparleo --- if a shop is going to replace the bearings just have them deal with all of it - If you have a press at home you can do the whole process at home - use a small cut off wheel to cut the retainer close to the axle then use a colt chisel...
