Selling a used OEM dual cutout rear valance for 72-4 Challengers. It’s got some rings snd a few extra screw holes but very solid. Only surface rust pictured. $150 or offers. Will not ship but can drive for gas/food money to meet.
I'm actually very optimistic in terms of my life and things that are not based on dollars. That dollar-based stuff - that's just reality. I worked at a dealership in parts. I know what gets back into the depot systems and why. Plus cars come and go, and the newer generations are simply not as...
My now ex-wife asked me what I was doing "moping in the computer room" one night when I was reading on Moparts. I took "moper", and that's been me ever since on all sites I'm on.
I was going to suggest first check the choke plate, then check the throttle linkage...lol. Not getting full throttle, or the cable sliding is really common.
Honestly giveit's not numbers matching, and needs what you've listed, plus the torsion bar cross, and maybe rails, and maybe inner fenders... etc.. Err on the side of $8K. It's not that nice and needs a LOT.
I still would prefer NOS if you can get a good set. What concerns me is that I'm certain there were sets that failed inspection years ago on the market. It's common for body shops to send parts back because of damage or whatever and it was back then too. So you pay huge money and then find it's...
The inner wheel houses are unique parts. But I'm fairly sure you can make the HT ones work by trimming away the excess.
On the floor - there were only autos made. It is MUCH les expensive to stamp and warehouse and catalog one part, than two. The holes were cut by hand with an abrasive wheel...
Why not just buy a 6bbl intake setup and run it on whatever you have now? Seems like a lot of effort for really the intake and carbs. You could be running what you want for $3K and a weekend.
Whatever someone will pay. Years ago they would have been worth more but nowadays you can get a brand new, better material, designed for top performance, in many stroke lengths and 6 or 8 bolt configurations relatively inexpensively. They are "nothing special" in my opinion. Just solid forged...
I am also a "strictly a Mopar mechanic" including complete builds from nothing. I'm completing a customer's build now that I'll have 250 hours in. I started with a non-running, incomplete, big-block 4sp swapped car. I drove the car this afternoon for the first time in 20+ years. My real job...
The rear-most is the smallest OD - so they can be installed from the front. None should have the same OD. I am less sure of the ID but I believe the first 4 are the same and the rearmost 5th is smaller.
So to your question... What's the wrong size? ID or OD, and which positions?
I've seen original cars where they were different shades. But personally I paint them at the same time so they all match. That's an appearance preference - not perfect restoration though.
I've used the same process and parts since the 80s with stamped and cast covers, all engines: Cork gaskets or whatever brand you can get, clean the covers to get off any oil even from your skin. I use brake clean on a shop paper towel. Use 3M weatherstrip adhesive and glue the gasket to the...
I can't imagine a well done 440 Challenger, clone, swap, whatever you want to call it, EVER being outvalued by a well done fully restored 318 car. Stock numbers matching is great, but the 318 cars have little appeal due to the 318 in it. Do what you want.
It's really more of a personal choice for you. The 440 package will take more stuff to get it in and running. The stroker will work with the trans and exhaust you have on the car already but may need upgrading to some extent in the transmission. Both make gobs of torque and can make lots of...
Milling to the extent you need to in order to get any feelable gain will cause other issues - mainly pushrods will need to be measured for and ordered, and the intake may need to be milled to match the heads. Once you get past .030" of so you have to machine the head's intake manifold side too...
I think, given what you have for the "package", that adding the 340/360 heads is a mistake. Add the HP manifolds and the 4bbl intake and carb. I would replace the camshaft with something like the stock 340 cam or the Comp XE262, and the valve springs with Comp 901-16s. The bigger port heads will...
The pump pushrod may be binding in the hole if the earlier one did indeed get worn off. All cams will have the eccentric, so it's either worn away, or something preventing the rod from reaching it. You can visually inspect the eccentric by removing the distributor and looking down in front of...
