Dan, welcome to FEBO from the desert! Not a bad looking 73 Challenger! Will be fun when you get it running and driving! Have your grandson help occasionally! Good bonding and we need future Mopar lovers! 😁
What sucks is there isn't any 383/400 intake manifold with fuel injector bungs. But the great thing is the 384/400 likes single plane intakes as they like to rev! So pay the money and have someone weld in bungs into a single plane aluminum intake for your 383 and multiple port fuel injection...
Crude, cheap and effective: Just replace it with union or tee. The rear brakes need the proportioning and all that is needed is an adjustable proportion valve installed into the lines. Oh, so you lose the stupid red light coming on when the brakes fail! You'll know before that stupid light...
Definitely don't toss it. There might be someone looking for one. I remember a brother of a friend of mine had a 70 383 Cuda with bench seat and column shift automatic. I certainly wouldn't change that car to a floor shift with console.
You cannot run an MSD Blaster coil with a stock Rallye gauge cluster! So your heard currently. I would just run a regular coil or ungrade to an MSD ignition. The problem is the new MSD boxes are cheap ChiCom crap that fail. Therefore just use a stock type coil. Preferably a coil made in the USA...
Kinda sounds like you have SS springs. Get rid of the blocks! They probably ran a tall tire 29" or 30" diameter slick and wanted to lower the rear and added the blocks. Might be better off with these, the extra heavy duty 426/440 springs: P4452984 right and P4452985 left. They use 1/2 springs in...
@Mopar426power , glad you got your car out for some exercise at least! 👍
When I drive my Challenger , I always feel like a kid going on an "E ticket" carnival ride. "E Ticket", E-Body, coincidence? Hmmm? 😁
Are you able to take photos of the fender tags at a slightly different angle? Sometimes lighting and angles of photos hide certain things on fender tags. I don't want to give away too much because there are a lot of unscrupulousness people out there that try and fake stuff! And a 340 WSS is...
Your camshaft is actually pretty big compared to a stock camshaft. One trick to get better idle at lower rpms is to drill a small hole in each primary throttle blade. This will let in a little more air at idle. If you don't have a set, get some numbered drill bits and start with a #45 and see if...
I run 195° thermostats in every car I own. If I remember correctly, when we had the 70 Challenger roundy round race car, we used a 180°, but it never ran more than 100 miles between races!
The ground strap going to the engine block to the bolt holding the voltage regulator and ECU bracket that @Challenger RTA posted above is a must for all our old Mopars!
Anyone looking at this post and doesn't have a similar ground to the engine and ECU, go but one and install it! Even if you...
