Definitely install the sending unit and fill tank before installing the tank like @E-Body Products suggested. Make sure the J-bolts have nice clean threads (they got sprayed with undercoating from the factory. A deep socket is a must for the nuts that go on the J-bolts that hold the straps. And...

Yay @MoparCarGuy that's what was asked for and now we as a group have the schematics!

For $150, plan on spending another $100 (less if you do the work yourself - $50?) for a workable intake? Maybe I should buy one and see what all is needed to make it usable and decent?

OK, the grille was obviously offered in six different colors per @larry4406 post, but why do three members remember seeing colored hood inserts? Was it another option?

I like the "restofied" (restored and modified) look myself, built my way with mostly factory parts!

Welcome to FEBO from the desert! That's a nice looking 71! Since you don't have the fender tag to verify A78 Formal roof package, does it have the overhead consolette? That would definitely indicate a 71 "SE" package.
