I hear ya. Chevron (I use loyalty points) has by default 91 octane "blue" fuel that is running about $2.55 per gallon here. As little as I plan driving it, really not a hugh cost savings. No biggie. Pistons and rings show up today - Life is good!
That was an unknown plus after leaving California for Idaho. Ethanol free 91 octane gas is readily available here. And in reality, I'll probably be closer to 10:1 after running the numbers.
Boring my 340 block .30 over. I have a stock forged crank (being turned .10), forged stock connecting rods, full floating wrist pins, and Edelbrock RPM Performer aluminum heads. I'm going with a roller cam & lifters, and roller rockers this time. I will not be racing this car and do not plan to...
Thanks for your comments. There are two shops near me that come highly recommended, so I will hit both up with your questions and go with the best answers. Cheers!

Thanks for the advise. Yes, I will be a little more hands on this time. I may just order all the parts separately and have a local racing shop balance the rotating assembly. Still waiting on Scat to refund my money.
Cool. Make sure you do not have a dyslexic painter. I like that it went all the way to the back of the hood, but the front just kills me. Can't see it from the drivers seat!
I understand delays, especially through Covid. But tariffs just cause us to spend more money, not slow down shipments, IMO. And that being said, be honest and up front and say that your order time may double or even triple because of XYZ. And if it was tariffs, they should TELL ME, not take half...
I have been very polite so far, and will continue to be. The salesman did let it leak that they only start doing the "balancing" of the assembly after ALL the parts for your order are there. BUT if you are are still missing your main bearings, in my case, they will take the connecting rods out...
