I agree with mopar jack. I didn't primer mine either but I also didn't strip mine down to bare metal. If you do decide to primer them, maybe use a primer closer to the brown color or a light color. Definitely use Herbs interior paint. The color matched my trim color perfectly.
72RoadRunnerGTX is correct, it only time delays those two lights.
I also installed an aftermarket wiring harness from Painless and I used that harness along with parts of my old harness to make everything work. I omitted the seatbelt buzzer because, previous to me owning the car, it was...
Very nice Challenger. Post a picture of the fender tag and I guaranty someone on this site can decode it for you and tell you what it was prior to the transplanted 440.
My originals are so deteriorated that its hard to tell what the texture should be. My originals are so "crunchy" that the only areas that look good are the back and under the armrest. lol. From what I can see they look very close if not the same. Very happy with the fit and finish so far. We...
Installed the door panels, front seats and finally the dash name plate. I used a flashlight to see inside the door to attach the remote door mirror cable and then put the door panel on. I was looking for the flashlight when I realized it was inside the door..... ;"( The nice thing about the...
Some interior installation came next. All of the quarter interior trim and door panels were bought from Van's Auto. The price was good and so far the fit and finish is very good. Nothing fits like the factory originals but to refinish mine was an astronomical price from Just Dashes. I used...
Back window and windshield install were next. If I was to do it again I would have installed the A-pillar moldings and front windshield trim first. Once the windshield adhesive is installed, because of its location, it was more difficult to install the moldings after. That comment applies to the...
Headliner install was definitely a very time consuming task especially when you have never installed one and it has been over 30 years since I removed it. Little did I know that a portable steam unit from Harbor Freight would be an important tool when installing the headliner. It can take minor...
Drip rail, vinyl top molding and front end parts install. Repainted the grill with paint from 8774paint1.com. That really freshened up the grill. I painted the front bumper filler the same color as the grill. It was so yellowed from the sun. I know that its not correct but looks better than it...
Radiator install with 2 13" SPAL electric cooling fans from Mattson's Custom Radiator. I installed a bung for the 3 way temperature switch to control the fans. The 26" 3 core radiator was bought in the early 90's from Modine when they were made in the USA. A local radiator guy braised the bung...
Once the gas, brake lines and other firewall stuff was in, it was time to install the engine and trans. I chose do install the engine, trans and front suspension from below as one unit. It went super smooth with two of my buddies assisting.
Adding brake lines etc.. Had the brake booster and proportioning valve both rebuilt. Master cylinder was new from Inline Tube. The heater box was rebuilt by SMS in NH, which is now out of business. The wiring harness is from Painless Wiring with a two piece firewall mount like the factory. I...
When you are ready to "poke" holes in the headliner, don't use a razor because the slices you put in the headliner could grow over time. I used a soldering iron which will melt the hole which won't allow it to grow. I used the soldering iron on all the holes for my headliner, mirror, sun visors...
Steering column and emergency brake refinished.
De-rusting with Eastwood rust removal liquid. Works great but it will deteriorate small, thin metal and springs. No pitting like media blasting. Repainted pedal with satin black paint. Looks like brand new. Don't have a picture post painting. You...
Dash reassembly complete and installed with a Dakota Digital instrument cluster. Used a chrome pen from Amazon to refinish the chrome accents around the bezels, heater controls, vents etc.
