72 Production when did it start?

The sequence number doesn’t really seem that low for an early build.

72 Production when did it start?

Well I did just find on the internet that on 9/28/71 the 1972 models went on display.. That’s kinda cool, so it was built a month prior. https://www.allpar.com/d3/history/plymouth/plymouth-1928-2001.html

72 Production when did it start?

Hello, so for some reason I had assumed for the last 5 years that my car was built 11/28/71. But out messing around in the garage this evening I took a picture of the door data tag, and it was 8-71. That concerned me as thinking it should be 11-71, turns out I messed up the info from the fender...

    Mopar Nats 2025 Ohio

Anyone going to the Nats? We are leaving tonight to head that way, not big on watching the races. Definitely more there for the car show and swap meet, and I want to meet Tony D'Agostino. We are staying in Hebron, hoping some people will be there for the show. Thanks, Chris

8 3/4 489 case cone style sure grip

I bought the 489 case with sure grip for $150 with a broke ring gear. I paid about $150 for a set of 373’s and the I think I about $400 for bearings seals, and new fine spline yoke. I think k at this point he says he’s up to $500 for labor. So $1200 already to rebuild a cone style sure grip...

8 3/4 489 case cone style sure grip

Thank you, I will go and measure the crush sleeve to check its length. That had me take the pinion and crush sleeve. I was a little concerned because they had the old yoke, but couldn’t find the new one I bought. Ugh

8 3/4 489 case cone style sure grip

So the trans shop has told me they need about 1/4” of shims on my yolk to touch the crush sleeve. It’s a 8 3/4 489 case with a cone style sure grip. It had 355 gears that were damaged, I purchased 373 gears to replace those. The original yoke was a coarse spline, and the new gears required a...

WTB Wanted: Sure grip housing cone style.

Sure grip housing cone style, this housing has a broken bolt and a couple of the other holes have stripped threads. I’d like to find another housing if possible, and if I can’t I’m going to see if a friend that’s a machinist can fix this one. Well this afternoon I was able to fix this...

    727 high performance?

I’m not sure exactly what it’s out of, but wondering what high performance meant? Certain gearing, or a different converter, was the kick down different?

    727 high performance?

I am just going over some parts for my car, and looking more closely at the transmission #’s. I found this list of numbers, and it has my transmission as a 73 from a 400 and list as high performance. It’s been rebuilt and up graded, but what did it start as?

    Help finding the right 727

I wanted to give an update, I purchased a 727 that is rebuilt with a shift kit. It was built in detroit by a mopar specialist for an older gent as a spare for his charger, its been on the bench since completed nice and dry. So on to my next parts of purchase, I will need a torque converter, flex...

    Help finding the right 727

Hello all, I am starting the search for a 727 to go behind a 69 440HP in my 72 Barracuda with a console. The car originally came as a column shift, and have the console brackets, shifter, and console. So when looking for a 727, I understand I need a long tail shaft, but what about when...

    Decide a 440

That looks amazing, talking with him this morning it appears the engine was from his father’s Coronet. It appears the car was wrecked long ago and that is the only surviving piece from the car.
