73 Barracuda Muffler Heat shield With a 70 tank

I have a 73 Barracuda with a 70' tank. I am replacing the fuel lines, and while I was at it install the vent tube on the passenger side. (the Previous owner never installed it.) I recently purchased a pair of muffler heat shields. Will they interfere with the vent tube, or will the fit just...

73 Cuda fuel sender return port

Having a hard time finding a 3/8 fuel sender without the return. I have only found a couple and not sure of the quality. I might have to go to 5/16. It is 1/16 narrower, but for my small block 340 and Edelbrock 600 cfm I think I should be ok.

I was very proud to hear Hughes comments, both as an American and also a hockey fan.

I'll have to get the fuel vapor separator. Right now I have a traditional 2 port fuel filter.

Yeah, that is wild. I believe they make little safety valves in case of an accident so that fuel doesn't just slosh out of the vent line. I will definitely keep you guys in the loop.

So it terminates in the frame rail. I see. I thought it had to go all the way to the engine bay.

100% Canada's goalie looked shaky the entire game.

Anyone see the gold medal hockey game today? It was great! Being a NY Ranger fan there hasn't been a lot to cheer about this year. I never thought my loudest cheers would be for a NJ Devil Jack Hughes with the game winning OT goal. Just awesome. And his comments about being proud to play for the...

73 Cuda fuel sender return port

So I checked my tank and there is a single port vent on the passenger side. I am thinking of replacing my 2 port fuel sender with a single port sender. Then connecting the tank vent to the 2nd fuel line that is attached to my vapor liquid separator. As I mentioned earlier my tank doesn't have...

73 Cuda fuel sender return port

It seems to me changing out the fuel sender is probably my best bet. I bought a new fuel line and once that is connected with a proper filter, I would have to make room for this fuel vapor separator too. That is lot of connections. on a fuel line.

So where does your vent end up? I believe the diagram earlier in the thread pointed to the breather cap. Correct?. I understand fuel doesn't ever get in your vent line because you are much higher than the tank. If so would I be able to get away with a rubber hose?

So to be clear if I have the side vent port on my tank i should vent it through the trunk and into the frame rail?
  17. G

73 Cuda fuel sender return port

Yes, my car has 2 lines. (it is a 73) but the fuel system might not be a 73. At this point I don't know. LOL. So if there are no holes in my tank too hook up the VLS can the fuel sender port be used as a vent? The PO didn't have anything hooked up to that line and likely only filled his tank 1/2...

73 Cuda fuel sender return port

Yes, you recommended looking at the side of the tank to see if there are any vent tubes in my welcome post. I have not had a chance to check it out. If it does in fact have those vents I can hook up the Vapor Liquid Separator(Can I start calling the the VLS? Too much typing!) then I guess it...

Lot's of great info in your post. Also a bit of a history lesson. I definitely need to get the service manual! It seems I need to figure out what tank I have to solve some problems. how is it "vented"? Thanks for all the great material.

73 Cuda fuel sender return port

Ok I am a new member with zero experience on Barracudas. So forgive me if my questions are basic or just plain dumb. Although my wife would tell you dumb questions from me are somewhat expected. I have a 1973 Barracuda 340, automatic. I just got it about a week ago. My fuel sender has 2 ports...
