@Xcudame Have you been using the DOT5 brake fluid in your car? Do your brakes work well? I have been reading up on DOT5 and I have read that the braking in the car may become spongy and more susceptible to brake fade. I don't plan or road racing my car so I don't think brake fade will occur but...
Does anyone know about how much brake fluid I need to fill the whole brake system? I have all new lines, new master cylinder, rebuilt calipers and proportioning valve (calipers and prop valve were the originals, sent out for rebuilding). The system is empty. I read 32oz is needed to fill the...
@Chryco Psycho Thank you for the information, I have gone to Rock Auto and saved them for a possible future purchase.
@Mr Cuda Thank you for your response.
@Steve340 Do you know the part number or what they call the pins on Mega Parts? I've tried looking there with no luck.
I'm installing my Kelsey Hayes floating (pin type) front disc brake calipers and I noticed that my pins are slightly worn in the spots where the disc brake pads touch. I was looking for some new pins and I saw a disc brake hardware kit on Classic Industries. They show the kit only for 1972 B&E...
If you can't find the rivets you can always use a hammer and anvil (most bench vise's have this spot, see pic) to "tighten" the rivets. Lay the rivet on the anvil and hit it with the hammer. That will crush the rivet slightly making the pivot point tighter. Just don't smash the hammer down the...
I agree with Challenger RTA, clean, adjust and grease parts. Then buy what you see is worn or missing such as rubber bumpers or guides etc. I did buy the window parts that I needed from, www.detroitmuscletechnologies.com
@JKCuda
Do you have the old latch assembly? The new one that you have looks to be a bit different than mine, I have a 73. Have you tried to put the spare striker into the latch to see if it will latch all the way? Is the front portion of the latch, where the spring is mounted, to high so that...
@hdwrench, My 73 has only one spring that goes from the passengers side to the drivers side with the torsion adjustment on the drivers side. When mine was reinstalled after paint, it was placed in the wrong tension location and my deck lid doesn't stay up. It should be one spot forward. I have...
@gran coupe john I know what your saying. Every time you start moving forward you realize that you don't have what you thought you did to put it together.... Or the part you need is rusty/dirty from sitting and now needs to be freshened up... slow process.
@hdwrench I had to adjust the mounts slightly by pushing on them to get them closer to the tail light openings. Also I still need to roll the outer lip slightly to make them more round and open them up just a little bit to allow the chrome tail light trim to sit inside the opening. The color is...
@MoparCarGuy Thank you for the pictures. I couldn't figure out how that "S" shaped line went, now I know. Looks like I need that elongated hole in my frame rail. Thanks again.
Does anyone else have any pictures? I need to install this also and I don't have a clue where the "S" shaped tube goes. I also had part my frame rail replaced and there is no hole for the lines to go through. So I need to figure that out also.
@hdwrench The Barracuda is looking great. It looks even better when you see the whole car in one color.
I also replaced much of what you are replacing. All body panel parts were from AMD. But, on the tail finish panel you will need to pre fit your tail lights with the seal attached to the tail...
The heater control shape is different from a non-rally cluster. So that means the bezel that goes around the heater controls is also different, at least in a Barracuda.
I used year one for my dash pad refinishing. It was around $1300-$1400 including the shipping to Texas. Free return shipping which did save a few bucks. I did contact dashpad pros and their price was about the same but shipping was pretty expensive. Thats why I went with year one. I also...
@David DiMartino I used JB weld 2 part epoxy and the trim rings feel as though they are on solid. I could not pull one off. Thanks for the info. The taillights look awesome once again. I used a chrome paint stick, I bought from amazon, to refinish the inner painted circle.
