I don’t know that there is an advantage or disadvantage in doing one before the other. If you had an SE, I think there are emblems that go on the C pillar and I’m guessing they have nuts on the inside so maybe in that case, do the vinyl top first.

Isn’t that what I said? The headliner does not need glass out but it is much easier.

I did my headliner first and had no problems. The front and rear glass needs to be out for the vinyl top and it is so much easier to do a headliner with the glass out too.

I don’t have any reference pics but it can’t be that bad. I’ve seen people do what you’re talking about and create an oem looking oil pressure gauge.

There are companies that make custom gauges for these standard dashes. Here’s a couple referenc pics. Some swap the Ammeter for a volt gauge which I like. The tach is nice too when installed by the Speedo and pushing the others over. And of course an oil pressure gauge would be nice.

I just dropped off a set of heads for rebuilding and the guy told me six months minimum. He claims he is overloaded and can’t find decent help anywhere. Same story everywhere anymore. I’ve been hearing that from guys in other parts of the country too. I’d try and tackle this yourself if you can.

I’ve used TCI with good results and they offer 904 units. They have techs who can go over your engine and cam details without putting you on hold.

Personal preference, I would say. I think most would agree a non performance convertible like mine would be best with no rake. I think a rake only works on performance cars shooting for that 70s era street hot rod look.
