The ground wire goes from the motor to the metal plate on the backside, as shown in the photo So there needs to be a good connection there but after that, you’d need a good connection from the three mounting holes on the firewall to the firewall itself (chassis ground).
If the motor worked...
I could totally be wrong here but that seems like a weak explanation. I would think that a lean condition would be caused by improper jetting rather than a fuel line that’s too small.
I have always heard that when properly jetted, the cylinders on the four corners, farthest from the carb tend...
I don’t know that there is an advantage or disadvantage in doing one before the other.
If you had an SE, I think there are emblems that go on the C pillar and I’m guessing they have nuts on the inside so maybe in that case, do the vinyl top first.
I did my headliner first and had no problems. The front and rear glass needs to be out for the vinyl top and it is so much easier to do a headliner with the glass out too.
I used a hydraulic Isky 270 mega in a 440 years back and it was an absolute stump puller with 3.23 gears. As I recalled, we were able to use the factory stamped rocker set since this cam doesn’t have a ton of lift on a smaller base circle Like a bigger cam would.
Granted it’s not as sexy as...
I recently went through this. Bought a set online only to have my money refunded weeks later being told they were no longer being made. If Herbs has any in stock, I’d grab them.
I found an okay set for 600 plus shipping.
As a side note, I put them in my 71 Barracuda with the accurate system...
There are companies that make custom gauges for these standard dashes. Here’s a couple referenc pics. Some swap the Ammeter for a volt gauge which I like. The tach is nice too when installed by the Speedo and pushing the others over. And of course an oil pressure gauge would be nice.
I just dropped off a set of heads for rebuilding and the guy told me six months minimum. He claims he is overloaded and can’t find decent help anywhere. Same story everywhere anymore.
I’ve been hearing that from guys in other parts of the country too. I’d try and tackle this yourself if you can.
This is a bizarre engine builder in my opinion. He should be asking what you want from the car once finished so he can build the engine to match your driving style.
For instance, if he knows you want a stop light race car with a choppy idle, he then builds the engine to suit this and he should...
I had an engine do that once and it turned out that a couple of the cylinders had rings that never seated properly, even after 1500+ miles. Removing the head showed that two of the cylinders were slick with oil and the walls still had the cross hatch hone pattern while the others did not.
A guy...
I just did this upgrade on my 71 barracuda ragtop. They fit and look great. Went with the Accurate exhaust kit which also fits and looks great. Sounds good too. Yes you need the 90 degree filter adapter.
One thing to note, the clearance on the passenger side near the shock tower is tight during...
Personal preference, I would say. I think most would agree a non performance convertible like mine would be best with no rake. I think a rake only works on performance cars shooting for that 70s era street hot rod look.
