I have a 1972 Cuda that I am in the process of cloning to look like a 1971. 6 years ago I dropped in a 1970 hemi into the car. My car has power steering and power brakes. Used the stock manifolds with no problems around the power steering pump or starter. 2 years ago I purchased 3" TTI headers...
Attached are the pics I took of the broken engine mount. The rubber separated from the other metal piece still attached to the block. My mistake when trying to put the engine in. The length of the metal is 3 1/2 inches and the inside width is 2 1/2 inches. Anyone know who makes this and...
Does anyone know where i can get a drivers side motor mount for a 426 hemi. Broke it last week reinstalling the engine. K member was for a 440 but a kit was purchased and fit perfectly. Apparently the guy I purchased the car from is no longer around. apparently the kit was purchased from a...
Is there a site I can get some information on how to put together the new shaker I have purchased for my Cuda. I am converting from a rally hood. I purchased and installed the shaker hood. Now all I need to do is figure out the shaker portion that goes on the carb. Lots of parts, screws and...
Hi Guys
2 years ago I dropped the 426 hemi out of my Cuda. Just put it back in today and I can't remember which inlet on the mechanical fuel pump the fuel line from the gas tank goes to.
The inlet on the pump that is closer to the front of the car points straight down and the inlet just behind...
Spring is here and time to do the regular maintenance before starting up the engines. Every year I get a different story on the type of oil I should be using on the old stock 68 hemi. I have even heard that some guys are putting diesel oil into their big blocks. Some say to add a ZDDP...
Just found out after removing the push rods that they are too long. The wrong ones were installed causing the valves not to close. We are in the process of getting the correct ones. Will keep you posted
Just checked the compression on my 426 Hemi. Drivers side each cylinder is about 150.
The passenger side each cylinder is 115. Big difference especially since the engine has just been done and has less than 100 miles on it. Any suggestions on what might be the problem or cause.
I thougt at first it might be the torque converter so I replaced it as well as the flywheel. The problem was still there. I will try the removing the fan but if that doesn't work I am guessing that it must be the damper. Just an expensive part to replace if it doesn't fix the problem
Thanks
I need some advise
Just installed a 68 block 426 hemi into my 72 cuda. Engine was totally rebuild from ground up and installed by a friend of mine. The engine was machined by a shop that went bankrupt while my engine was in the shop. It took almost a year to get it back and had to be put...
