Anyone running Non OE Exhaust? Headers to Mufflers with axle dumps?

2.5 from headers to x pipe, then run along the tunnel to Summit welded mufflers, Turn downs come out of the mufflers towards the tires. Engine is a small block at 11:1, so its got a bit of growl too it. It doesn't seem loud idling in the garage. I haven't got it out on the street yet. I...

    Front End Kit

Biggest issue with tie rod deflection is the slot in the sleeves, not the diameter of the threads. Use a solid 9/16 sleeve and you get the same improvement as changing to 11/16 system. Yes 11/16 is beefier than the original 9/16, and these days are the same cost, but the 9/16 units are capable...

    Torsion Bars

I'm using 1.24 t-bars with the 414 oval track leaf springs, 1.125" front s-bar and a 1" rear s-bar. According to my calcs, this should produce a nice handling balance with my small block. It would work for a big block as well, but will use up the tires faster. If you wanted more than a 1.25...

    Torsion Bars

Unfortunately, we don’t have a lot of choices when it comes to big torsion bars. If there aren’t any in stock with your sources and you’re not wanting to wait for their next production run, that only leaves web boards and auction sites to search for the elusive big bars. The other option is to...

    Torsion Bars

1.24 t-bar is a 400# wheel rate. That is equivalent to an 800# spring in Brand C, which is a pretty hot street and mid-range racing handling point. Of course, you can use higher sway bar rates to offset the loss in wheel rate form smaller torsion bars to retain handling capability. The Hotchkis...

Any Tru Bolt in subframe connectors out there?

When I was younger didn't have a welder, I bolted in sub-frame connectors in B bodies that made significant improvements in rigidity. They improved things enough that doors that wouldn't open when using a bumper jack were able to open and close normally. Are they better than welded, no, but they...

    Best sound deadner, and carpet.

HAs anyone installed the cut pile version? I'm not interested in 100% original.

Any Tru Bolt in subframe connectors out there?

Bolt in connectors are fine for most applications. Are they the best way to go, no, but they won't fail and rip out your frame rails unless you are running ridiculous amounts of power, in which case you wouldn't be running bolt in sub-cons anyway.

    318 LA block build ideas

In that case, do nothing with it and let it sit. IF you ever sell and the new buyer wants it, you can provide it. IMO, numbers matching in a 318 E body does not make it more valuable than your current 416. While it may be rare to have those together, rare does not always equate to valuable or...

Why didn't the factory use "stroker" specs ?

We wonder that with the benefit of hindsight, access to our current technology, and neglecting to remember that the Factory built cars predominately for transportation that had to be warrantied, not racing. At the time, some of these were considered to be big stroke engines.

FOUND WTB piece of a junk Challenger fender

It should, however I'm working with a member on some pieces from a front that have already been cut up. Stay tuned.

FOUND WTB piece of a junk Challenger fender

Looking for a dented, bent, or rusty fender that has some fender lip area remaining. I don't need the whole fender, just a section as show in the picture. GOt less than that. I'm interested in that too. At this time, I'm not thinking it will matter if its left or right as I'm only using sections...

Tire to fender clearance - how close is too close?

1/2 inch is fine, heck, I've run this down to a 1/4 inch in some places, IF you can avoid contact of the widest part of the tire and the narrowest part of the opening. Yours looks close enough it may cut the tire, but camera angles can be deceiving. I would check how far into the well that tire...

    Drag link unlevel.

Uneven drag links is such a common occurrence that the Mopar Chassis manual has directions for leveling it. You can shim the steering box or you can file fit and weld a washer to the idler arm mount. I haven't heard of "drop" pitman and idlers to correct this for classic mopars and even if they...

E body and other mopar oddities.

Back in the mid '80s, in my town there was a Superbird that was driving around with '70 Super Bee nose on it. I imagine it was in a wreck and damaged the nose cone, they couldn't find replacement parts, so on went the Dodge parts. Back then parts weren't easy to find and your search was limited...

    Garage squad

As much as love my old mopars and my sons respect them, they are priced out of the E body world. And honestly, why would they go broke to work on these. They can pick up a good running later model V8 or turbo car for $10k, it drives great, has good stereo and a/c and still has hop up potential...

Steering - new gear box vs rack & pinion

The sector support bearing assembly is installed to help reduce deflection of the steering box with heavy tire loads. It is designed to be installed in cars that are assembled to provide the extra support to the steering box. If your car is apart, you can reinforce the steering box mount to...

Are E body leaf springs not square?

Yes, that was done for handling purposes. The splayed mounting means when the body starts to roll over, it is also twisting the leaf instead of just compressing it. That provides added resistance to compression. This is also why mopars leafs are 2.5" wide instead of 2" like all their...
