Seems like it only unlocks after coasting but I was incorrect on the slippage. When warm,it does slip in drive under moderate to heavy acceleration even though it firmly goes into drive from the park position.
It goes right into drive from both park and neutral without any delay. I just had a machine flush which helped second to third shift (slightly crisper) but didn't help the convertor. Is there any way of checking the convertor and is there a way of knowing the stall?
I have run 340's in most over the years. Currently working on a want to be AAR. You name the year and I can find a part that fits. 68 block, x heads and six pack. Oh well, fun to drive and work on!

Recently put my "mostly" 73 Cuda back on the road and I am currently working some bugs out of her! One issue I could use help with is the tranny. She has a 727 behind a 340 six pack and it was rebuilt about 5 years ago, when you apply light throttle (hard to do!) after coasting it has a run away...
