I wasn't able to examine the harmonic balancer while it was on the car so I decided to remove it. It looks like the rubber is starting to break down. I had the engine rebuilt about 4 yrs ago. It looks like they used the old balancer. Is it better to have it rebuilt or replace it? Has anyone...

Update: I had to replace the clutch plates in the posi. The vibration is still there. The rear end guy thinks there may be a problem with the trans. He said he has seen a problem with the tail shaft once. I read another thread that said the converter was pushed forward and damaged the thrust...
I had talked to the builder while it was being built. He told me that he had forgotten that the 360 was externally balanced until one of his guys reminded him.
I don't drive the car much and when I do, I rarely drive over 55 mph. I noticed the vibration at 60 mph +. I adjusted the exhaust because the pipes were hitting the floor, replaced the trans mount first (it was broken), then the motor mounts. The things that I replaced within the last year, were...
Can anyone recommend a harmonic balancer for a 1978 360 engine. I have a vibration in park and neutral, and at at about 3000 rpm. The motor and trans mounts have just been replaced (quality parts) The torque converter weights are in place. The engine was rebuilt about 3 yrs ago and the crank...

The cap and the rotor came with the electronic ignition conversion kit. The kit was bought new from a reputable source, so I assumed everything was matched. Like I mentioned, new doesn't always mean it's good. Thanks
The distributor has about a 100 miles on it. I'm having a lot of experience with new parts failing prematurely. I think it's the junk from China. If you look at the tan colored cap that came with the electronic distributor, there is wear near the base of the terminals compared to the points...
