I just pulled out my rear seats looking for the build sheet for my car. I didn't find that but attached to the back of the seat back I did find a metal tag wired to the seat spring.
The tag measures about 7/8" high X 3 15/16" wide. The upper line says: 3689202 D...
Rich, I called Northwestern Auto on Monday & they are looking into the part and will call me back. I am still waiting for that call back so I have now gone elsewhere.
Rich / Benny, Thanks for all your help. I have a choke 3698355 ordered up & will have it shortly.
The part number I found in the catalog is 3656730 (the same one bennydodge posted).
I just looked at the choke control in the car and it says: 48750 Under that is: Choke Cont and Under that is: BAT
That is the same part number I came up with but when I search for it the sites only mention big block engines & say it is Not compatible with my 340. That is why I am confused.
I'm just trying to be sure I have the correct part before I spend about $50 only to find out I bought the wrong part.
Thanks for the pic. I think the only difference in these choke assemblies is probably the length and maybe the bends in the rod.
I just need to find out the correct part number for the 340 application.
Thanks Rich,
I'll try the phone number next week and see what they can tell me.
It was weird that I couldn't get any hits with the part description / part number.
Dave
Rich,
I just tried to look up "New Carter Choke Stat RT859 170-859" (In various combinations) both on ebay & out on the web with no luck. I did find one site that converted your number to a Walker number 102-1003 but when I looked that one up it says it is not compatible with my car.
Do you...
I just installed the correct thermoquad 6319S carb on my 73 Challenger 340 AT with a stock intake manifold. There is no choke assembly on my car presently so I searched for the part number for the choke assembly on the E-Bodies.org on line parts catalog and came up with part number 3698355 for...
Yes I did put the timing light on it with the vacuum hose disconnected. It was set at approximately 12 degrees when I got it & I tried going up to approximately 15 degrees as recommended by one member. That seemed worse than the 12 or so. I set it back to 12 for the time being as I couldn't...
The tag number is: 37 2
3656771
The rotor does turn pretty freely and when I plugged the vacuum advance hose back on the carb the rpm's picked up so I think that means the vacuum advance is working.
When you say the curve should be different than stock does that mean...
I do have receipts for all the parts he installed. I only said "looks to be 10.2:1 compression" because that is what the Silv-o-lite web site said but I thought that the block & or heads might change that number.
He changed to aluminum heads only because one of the oem heads was cracked. So his...
Thanks. The thought of fuel injection had actually crossed my mind just to get away from the carb issues. The guy I bought the car from is a big Mopar guy and he was just finishing up on his 1966 Charger build for the strip complete with parachute when I bought the Challenger. So I assume he...
Thanks for the info. I'm going to recheck the timing when I get a chance.
I thought the internet said to check shaft rotations to 1 tire rotation to get the gear ratio but I knew that a 1.66 ratio was unheard of. The differential is tagged 3.23.
Thanks moparleo. I looked at your guide already. Great info. I haven't looked at the plugs the previous owner installed when he rebuilt the engine 500 miles ago but I will remember the Champion plugs when the time comes.
