I recall seeing this beautiful car for sale a good while ago on eBay. It's probably the only N code automatic Gran Coupe convertible in this color combo. I believe that the asking price then was $105 or $110k and I think it was located in Florida. It's been a good while since I saw the ad so...
Wow, that $ range is scary. The engine for sale is a long block for $450 plus I'd need to buy an intake and carb. Like you said, everything adds to the cost. Who knows what the inside of the engine looks like after sitting 30 years too. Much thanks.
I know this is a wide-open question on an engine's current condition but was wondering what a ballpark cost is to rebuild a 1970 440HP engine. It's been sitting inside for 30 years, currently is bored 30 over, and has 12.5 to 1 pistons. I haven't kept up with engine rebuilding costs in many...
Everyone here had excellent comments. I don't think it's worth $55,000 because it needs a lot of work/parts. In its current condition that you described I would put it at maybe $20k. The cost of restoring it to driver standards in the many hours of labor and the cost of the parts that the car...
Thanks. On the Brewer's site I was wondering that some kits call for a 26-spline 'output' which I'm not familiar with. Passon's site has a kit that I'll probably buy. The Advance Auto's gasket set was Fel-pro brand and it's hard to tell if it's made in the U.S. or not.
Thanks. I only noticed fluid on the garage floor and am not sure where it's leaking. I'll clean the outside of the trans and then check to see where it's leaking. Before I bought the car it did sit for a while so I was thinking it was one of the two main gaskets.
I have a 1970 A833 four speed 23-spline transmission in my big block Challenger. It is leaking fluid on my garage's floor. I looked up a gasket kit on the Rock Auto and Advance Auto sites and they both stated that the kits are for 18-spline units. There was no mention of a kit for a 23-spline...
