You are actually needing 2899879 casting # for 383-4, 440-4 and 4406 engines. The number above is incorrect.
The 2899879 is the manifold I have on the right side and is correct. I need the one for the left side of the engine and according to Dave Wise's books the number is 2899970? Your thoughts?

The 1970 parts book concurs, the HP exhaust manifolds are the same on 383-4, 440-4 and 440-6.

Right - Part# 2899968, Casting# 2899979
Left - Part #2951864, Casting# 2951865

I harvested the image from epay showing the casting #s:

Hello,

Lots of confusion on these Mopars!! I looked in Daves book and it said 1970 2951865 is the left manifold for a 440 B and C Body. I did not find any reference to the number 2951965? Did you mean 2951865?

For a 1970 E Body with a 440 his book is showing only one number and this is 2899970? He said the E Bodys are different than the current B Body left one I have on the engine which is 2843992 which he said was for a B Body on his inspection of my car a few weeks back?

Any help would be appreciated.

Thank You

If you had your car inspected by dave wise, and it's a real 6 pack, then you need a manifold that is not drilled for a heat riser shield. Even harder to find.

Correct 70-71 B & E body casting numbers are 2951865 & 2899879. I would like to see one of the 2951865 manifolds with the holes "not drilled" for the heat shield. I have had dozens of sets of these manifolds and all have had the heat shield bosses drilled and tapped.
