Looking for a idler pulley, would have been used on small block, with A/C, and manual steering.

Manual steering on A/C cars is a rare combination, and typically limited to special orders.

That said, the part book DOES NOT seem to distinguish this assembly between power and manual steering cars. Is it possible this same assembly came on the power steering cars, too?

The bracket may be unique, but not the other parts of the assembly.

Appreciate the content but if it had power steering that was how the belt was tightened if you didn’t have PS than the idler pulley tightened it. This was on AC cars from what I have deduced.

I've always remembered as power steering has it's own belt, and it's own groove on the crankshaft. But I can't say I've seen an A/C car with manual steering, either.

But maybe this is all pointless. We are saying the same things. it doesn't matter if you have PS or not. The idler pulley is needed for the water pump belt in some A/C configurations.
