6.4L Hemi - What is this opening in the block for?

Going over my crate 6.4L and noticed this opening in the block. Can someone enlighten me?

My 6.1 has that same hole. Not sure but mine has what looks like a frost plug there. Not used in my application anyway.

HAHAHAHA, I actually was looking into this exact hole last week. It's for a block heater. might be something to look into in your area, but I'm in Deep south Texas, so.......

Chicago does get cold but it's going in a '71 Cuda, won't be outside of the garage from Nov-March... LoL... Thanks for the help...
