70 challenger 440 mallory dist.

i have a 70 challenger with a 440, i added a mallory dist. do i need to add a resistor or is the factory resistor on the firewall all i need?

Any mention in installation instructions?
Do you have a link to the distributor you have?

FWIW
I used a MSD pro Billett w/ 6AL box and used a factory style resistor with no issues. My car is a 73 cuda bb

thank you both for answering, the instructions show it is needed or it can fry the inside module, it shows the ign wire go's to the resistor and then out to the coil but it shows the red wire that leads to the dist. needs to be before the resistor so if i use the factory resistor on the firewall i guess i need to run a wire back to the firewall to feed the dist red 12v wire, i am trying to keep it nice and clean looking. the diagram is on page 2
